Part Time jobs

whenever they had to make some pose for the picture, then i used to go towards them and move them by touching them here and there, and telling them that this how u should stand.. even though they were standing correctly before...... same thing used to happen when i was taking passport pictures.... i used to go towards them, move them here and there to get the real feel, and then used to tell them to look straight and focus on the camera
Isn't that every boy's childhood dream? To work as a cameraman asking girls to do all and sundry? Not to mention being a ladies tailor. If you had a chance Cricketics I am glad to hear that you didnt let it go waste. And you would be surprised that many girls are completely aware of that and not exactly averse to the idea. Me never did any part time job. Went straight to college and then to work, nothing in between :embaressed_smile:

dont remind me of those days.. two years after landing in US were the worst.. first part time job was at KFC when I was 16 and in 11th.. and being vegeterian, i had to fry chickens and what not.. got fired in couple of weeks.. next job was as a stocker at grocerry store.. pushing carts and stocking big boxes of grocerries.. worked till mid-night and waking up at 5:30- 6-00 to catch school bus.. horrible times....
damn, that sounds tough!

Like anything there is both good and bad sides to it Cricketics. Working to pay your bills is never a bad idea. At the same time if you do not work you can have so much fun. I suppose in some ways I was indeed lucky to experience things which I would have probably missed otherwise. Then again I did miss out to standing on my own two feet, till I was an Engineer. xxx

I certainly feel this concept of part-time jobs is a good one for young students. It gives you a feel of what professional work will look like, help get better in time management and more importantly , helps ingrain the value for money at a very early age. Nobody realizes money's value , unless we earn it. And thanks Lurks , for calling me Cricketics. That was the last nail in the coffin !

Life has been tougher here than it was in India , but i have learnt more in the last 12 months of my life than in the previous 22. Though, i havent had to do tough part time jobs. I have seen many guys slog it out though.

I was security guard for night shift/ occasional freelance labourer. personally, security guard is a 'bindaas' job for students- especially if you get the night shift(which newbies always get) - you get to sit on your ar$e for atleast 4-5 hrs a day and do your homework assignments for anywhere between $11- $17/hr.

Nah, a friend of mine tried being network tech at a computer lab - he got fed up with students bolloxing up the printer every 10 minutes and surfing porn on the university servers- he had to monitor the internet activity like a mullah watching his daughter on the day of holi. I tried being a tech-support dude to an ISP for four months- the workload is far greater and i got fed up with dumb Americans who couldnt tell their floppy drives from their CD drives (and yes, i dealt with American clients only!) :haha:
