I don't get it. Both have nearly same average of 36 but Sehwag has SR of 16 more. I mean how is Yuvi a better batsman ?
Because UV has won more matches than VS..Statistics are like miniskirts, they reveal more than what they hide

Well i removed minnows. But still SR difference is 16. Then how does Gilchrist gets rated so high as ODI player ?

there was the small matter of him being the wicket keeper along with a world class batsman.

even viru and yuvi are rated high as odi players. they are going to retire with 35+ avgs and memebrs of the 10000 runs club. viru does what jaya and gilchrist does but better. yuvi is one of the best finishers just after bevan, dhoni, hussey i guess.

You cannot compare an opener to a middle order batsmen. makes no sense
++ But to be honest UV is a much more sensible batsman in ODIs compared to Veeru .. Veeru is mostly hit and miss throughout his ODI career whereas UV has been a lot more consistent in the middle order at least till a few years ago.. only common thing is that both are good hitters and both made a comeback after being dumped a few years ago .. and both act in an ad for the same brand stating the same fact :giggle:

Depends upon who is in form but I don't think uv can bat in the top 3 so Sehwag But oh boy when uv is in form, he is so exciting

UV is the best ODI batter in the world IMO. Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk
:fail: Michael Hussey says :hello: Not a fair comparison, but lets consider the fact that we havent had opening issues. Sachin/Sourav/Sehwag/Gambhir have done jolly well and Rahane is waiting. Can we say the same for the # 5/6 slot ? Don't think so. I would hence say UV holds much more value for team India in ODIs, and i haven't talked about his improved bowling yet.

Rohit is looking good. He mentions how he was learning to be a finisher from MSD and UV.

He has strike rate of 73' date=' almost same as that of dravid. So he would be below yuvi & dhoni and alongside dravid & sehwag.[/quote'] To each his own. I rate Ganguly very highly and IMO he is India's 2nd best ODI batsman ever.

Very odd comparision..both UV & Sehwag are unique :two_thumbs_up:
thats what I like about ICF .You even get a chance to compare tailender with a proper batsmen or bowler with batsmen etc :giggle:
