ravishingravi Posted January 28, 2012 Posted January 28, 2012 No they dont all speak hindi. Just the ones who moved to India. Yes a lot of them do. Have you been there ?
hari504504 Posted January 28, 2012 Posted January 28, 2012 Yes a lot of them do. Have you been there ? that is very surprising ! ..I didn't know that either, just read abt it. Manny_Pacquiao Posted January 30, 2012 Posted January 30, 2012 that was a FANTASTIC documentary. really eye opening. I had no idea that things had deteriorated so much in balochistan. largest province in the country, yet easily the poorest, least educated and most neglected. i didnt know they were independent of pakistan until 1948!! forcefully annexed by pakistan even tho they voted on independence. wow. india can't sit by and watch these people suffer. they are just crying out to be another bangladesh. the comparison is even made by one of the leaders interviewed, 'they haven't learned the lesson from bangladesh'. unfortunately, they dont look anywhere near as organised as the bangladeshi movement, smaller in numbers as well. mostly a tribal people, in the middle of nowhere. i also loved that line from that freedom fighter at the beginning: 'pakistan kaun hai? pakistan kaum hai? yahan sindhi, baloch, punjabi, yeh saare kaum hain, pakistani koi kaum nahin hain. humain zabardasti kyon pakistani banaa raha hai?' sums up what pakistan is. a bastard country with no identity. i think its no coincidence that india is stepping up activities in afghanistan. the pakis make no secret of their fear of this at the end of the documentary, 'spreading their tentacles'...LOL... free balochistan. inshaallhah.
NeutralCat Posted January 30, 2012 Posted January 30, 2012 Yes it should be a free, independent nation, free from the terrorist state that is Pakistan.
achilles Posted January 31, 2012 Posted January 31, 2012 Oh really ? May I know the reasons for your answer ? The reasons are the same the men from the Greenlands give as justification for their propaganda on every damn internet website inhabited by Indians.
chainsmoker1985 Posted January 31, 2012 Posted January 31, 2012 Already are.. Hakimullah Mehsud and Pakistani Taliban are being funded by the Indian embassy in Afghanistan according to Musharraf and he apparently has the proof for it. How much do you believe them? They(Pakistanis) have the history of making stupid claims and blames.

I am hoping that we are doing atleast that in retaliation for what is happening in our country. I would like to believe that RAW isn't just another paper-pushing organization and is far more potent. It seems to be the logical step for us to weaken our Foe, and likewise for Afghanistan to support our efforts from their soil, which is perilously close to falling back into the hands of the Aghan Taliban.

Yes, I understand your point. That's what I always used to think that their ISI had never missed an opportunity to create tension in India. So, why should RAW be lacking behind in exploiting the situation in Balochistan. Balochis just don't want to be a part of Pakistan. I was watching the interview of Hyrbyair Marri, Balochi Leader and he was openly admitting that he will take donation from any country for his country's independence. I am sure RAW will be funding Balochi separatists. But, we will never admit it coz it can spoil our reputation. There is something that I always find confusing. Can you explain me pl why Pakis so openly talk about Indian Kashmir and that Kashmiris wants independence from India. Even Pakistan have Kashmir. who also don't want to be part of Pakistan. So, in a way, we can say the same thing too against their Kashmir. But I never found a convincing reply from India in this regard. Is it that their Kashmiris don't want independence but our Kashmiris want? Is their Kashmir more cool and calm than our Kashmir? Pl explain in simpler language yar.

Guess it is the 'Perceived Greater Evil' syndrome. Azad kashmir is only free by name, it has limited self governance and the presence of Pak troops on the ground. But Politics is also a game of distraction - " Look Hindu army is repressing your brethren across the border" seems to be the only line being towed to keep the people there in check. PoK has its own puppet PM and an 'Azad Kashmir Regiment'.. Religeon has a major part to play on why Indian Kashmir is so much harder to control and is lot more publicised when it comes to military crack-downs... On whether PoK is cooler and calmer.. certainly looks like it, and again religeon and the perceived Satanic forces across the LoC contributes to it, other than that there is no reason why Kashmir would want to be part of Pak, their language, culture are so different from the adjoining Pak provinces.
Utalk Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 I am from Pak Kashmir and have relatives in Indian Kashmir. There is a difference in ground realities on both sides. As hari has said we are not Azad by any means. Our leaders are puppets of their masters in Islamabad who pull the strings. You can't participate in elections without swearing allegiance to Pakistan which I find disgusting. Nationalist parties like JKLF face persecution because of their free Kashmir stance. Their is one difference from IOK is that we are financially lot better then our brothers on the other side of LOC. Literacy rate in Kashmir is the highest in Pakistan. Crime rate is really low compared to our neighbours in Punjab. That to me is down to peaceful nature of normal folk here. There are aspects where we got a raw deal from Pak. Mangla dam is the major source of electricity and irrigation water for Pakistan. When dam was built in 60s my grandfather and thousands of others had to give up their houses, land and move elsewhere. We were promised free electricity but that never materialised. Yes religion plays a major part but I think Indian govt wasted 40 years that could have been used to get Kashmiri ppl on their side. The uprising in late 80s was a reaction of 40 years frustration and neglect. You can all blame Pakistan but without strong local support it wouldn't have been possible. Same happened in BD where ppl weren't happy with west Pakistan and it ended with a split. Bilochistan is heading in the same direction and Islamabaf needs to open its eyes before it's too late. Their is no point blaming others. Get your house in order and neighbours won't have an opportunity to jump in.

Well surely, POK is not free by any means. Calling yourself Azad Kashmir will not make you independent. LOL, What Stupidity!! They are nowhere to be seen on world map as an independent country. What kind of dreams Pakistan is selling them.... When Pakistan plans or dreams about breaking Indian Kashmir, I think they should keep only one thing in their minds- First and Foremost, Kashmir is an integral part of India and we won't give away even an inch of it, off course. Secondly, even if Kashmir gets separated from India then whole Kashmir will get independence including POK. So, Pakistan will also have to lose their Kashmir too. Well, Pakistan might still lose their Kashmir but India will never ever. Pakistan has already sold some parts of POK to China lol. What else can you expect from them!!

As I have explained it's not Azad Kashmir by any means. People in Azad Kashmir don't consider themselves a free country. For them its part of Pakistan. So no one is buying the Azad thing but difference from ppl in Kashmir valley is that ppl by and large are happy with this situation. High literacy rate, low crime rate and good financial health are the reasons ppl are content. But if given a third option ppl will vote for a greater independent Kashmir, To me India and Pakistan are in the same boat that they don't want to give up their share of Kashmir at any cost. Only difference is that ppl in Kashmir valley are raising their voice and are suffering at the hands of large indian army presence there. If tomorrow ppl in Azad kashmir stood up for separation Pakistan will do the same or probably worse to us. Both countries are happy with the status co and wouldn't want to lose their part of Kashmir at any cost. I blame both countries equally for this mess. I hate when ppl and media from both sides comes out with nonsense like atoot ang and ilhaq to Pakistan. Its about time ppl in both countries look at this issue without looking at it from their perspective and from the eyes of a normal folk on both sides.

Since you are from that are, you might know better. But the way I see it, you cannot neglect role of religon in the Kasmir issue. What if majority of Kashmiris in POK were Hindus ? Do you think things would be peaceful ?

But Utalk .. as a Kashmiri do you think it is realistic that Kashmir can exist as an independent country sandwiched between India,China and Pakistan ? Just to get your perspective.. clearly Kashmir will be so dependent on one of these countries for everything that it would become a defacto state of the country..
ganeshran Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 ^ +1 An independent Kashmir would be a disaster and ruined by proxy wars between India, Pakistan and China to exert their influence. The only people who gain would be the Kashmiri politicians who could extract benefits from all three countries promising their loyalty. The status quo in Kashmir is the most suitable for all the parties involved (Pakistan Army, Indian army and the Hurriyat). A permanent solution doesnt suit any of the parties so they all play for short term advantages
chainsmoker1985 Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 @Utalk, You live in Manchester right? For how long you have been living there?
chainsmoker1985 Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 But Utalk .. as a Kashmiri do you think it is realistic that Kashmir can exist as an independent country sandwiched between India' date=China and Pakistan ? Just to get your perspective.. clearly Kashmir will be so dependent on one of these countries for everything that it would become a defacto state of the country.. Now, that is one point which we have to admit, we South Asians are just like hungry dogs. Suppose, if Greater Kashmir gets independence, it will a loss to India and it will a loss to Pakistan but it will also present a great opportunity to china as well who is always hungry for a piece of land. So, all 3 India, Pakistan and China might jump on Greater Kashmir like a hungry dog. On the other hand, if you look at Europe, they have so many small countries. Some are even smaller than 10 kms, hehehe. But they live in piece most of the time and you hardly hear problematic news coming out from that area. Same thing can't be expected here. Here the bigger will always try to dominate the smaller ones
Clarke Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 The United States (US) Committee on Foreign Affairs is set to convene a congressional hearing on Wednesday (February 8), for an exclusive discussion on Balochistan. While Islamabad has strictly treated Balochistan as an internal matter, the debate on such a divisive topic by the powerful committee has highlighted the level of American interest in Balochistan and its support, if any, for the nationalist movement. On its part, Pakistan has kept Washington at arm’s length on the Balochistan issue, by refusing to grant it permission to open a consulate in Quetta. A Republican Congressman Dana Rohrabacher, who recently co-authored an article with Congressman Louie Gohmert expressing support for an independent Balochistan, will chair the hearing. “Perhaps we should even consider support for a Balochistan carved out of Pakistan to diminish radical power there (in Pakistan),” Rohrabacher wrote in his piece. M. Chris Mason, a Senior Fellow at the Center for Advanced Defense Studies, who recently retired from the US Foreign Service, has emerged as another ardent proponent of free Balochistan in the United States. In an article, Mason, who lecturers at the prestigious National Defense University, argued an independent Balochistan would solve many of the [******] region’s most intractable problems overnight and would create “a territorial buffer between rogue states Iran and Pakistan.” “The answer to the current Pakistani train-wreck is… recognising Balochistan’s legitimate claim to independence… to help the Baluchis go the way of the Bangladeshis in achieving their dream of freedom from tyranny, corruption and murder at the hands of the diseased state,” he wrote. http://www.dawn.com/2012/02/06/us-congressional-hearing-may-spell-trouble-for-pakistan.html Sounds like someone wants payback for all the support granted to AQ/Taliban
Vivek.S.123 Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 I don't know about Balochis, but I want all Sindhis to go to India. Pakistan has stolen Sindhi people and culture from India, and don't even give a shite about them. I want Sindhi culture to be alive in India !
