Agree with u there..but everyone is hoping that Mithun and VK dont get to play. Neither inspire much confidence regarding their wicket-taking abilities. Dinda or even Pathan would be better options under Australian conditions. Of course what one really hopes is Ishant can play even if he is pumped full of Cortisone shots and painkillers.

Of course he should play only if he can manage to bowl his full quota. If it is only a swelling and not a major injury, Cortisone can keep him running for 5 days ( I am no expert, but this is what some guys in the know tell me). A replacement is also an excellent option, provided it is better than VK or Mithun.

Ishant definitely ruled out of the first test. I wonder why Indian team management had to concoct lies by saying Ishant intended to bowl only 5-6 overs in the tour opener.

:facepalm: Patently obvious the dude isn't going to be fit for the first Test and probably the series. Why delay the inevitable and bring in a replacement at the last minute, who will then have no time to adjust to Aussie conditions? Basic mistakes repeated every single tour by the richest cricketing body in the world.

The mere sight of a pregnant RP smiling back after having his 120 kph thunderbolt smashed out of the ground will destroy the Aussies psychologically.
