Needforspeed Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 He has not played much FC cricket and has not done greatly in the matches he has played too, but problem is the bowlers who have done well in FC matches are mostly trundlers and has been unimpressive whenever they have played. The people we are pinning out hopes are these guys who may not have taken a lots of wickets at FC level but are young and quick and they can be improved further. Likes of Yadav, Aaron, Abu Nechim, Rahul Shukla, Anwar Ahmed Khan all are from plate league teams but are our best upcoming young fast bowlers and first four can all bowl between 140-150K. I want this bowling pool for India which BCCI has desired to make. Umesh Yadav Ishant Sharma Varun Aaron Praveen Kumar Rahul Shukla Abu Nechim Anwar Khan Sudeep Tyagi Pawan Suyal Dhawal Kulkarni Shrikant Wagh Mohammad Shami Ahmed Ashoke Dinda Parvinder Awana RP Singh +1
chainsmoker1985 Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 Am I the only one who thinks Aaron is over-rated? He is not over-rated. He is just an earlier version of Peter Siddle. He is very similar to Peter Siddle(of the past) in his bowling abilities, batting abilities and physique as well. Aaron is 21 only and has only played 3-4 matches only. Too early to say he is over-rated or writing him off. Atleast he has all the basic ingredients, pace, aggression, strongly built and a lil bit of batting abilities. He will soon be a match winner like Peter Siddle
rkt.india Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 LOL' date=' 55-60 meter boundaries and on top of that dead or good batting tracks. Even 90 m bouncer can't do much on Indian tracks. India is made for bowlers graveyard[/quote'] only against Indian domestic batsmen, not against every batsman.
chainsmoker1985 Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 http://dypt20.com/Cricket21/match14/webscorecard.html I must say, very impressed by Rahul Shukla here. He is now learning how to use pace against domestic batsmen. That is very imp. Having pace and knowing how to use it. Just like buying shotgun will not make you a hunter. Rahul was the best bowler in the whole match. Now, that is a some sort of achievement, in a match where there are all the experienced players were playing. I think Rahul was the least experienced in this match and still outperformed all the bowlers. The hero of the match, R Gomez didn't hit a single boundary of Rahul bowling and Rahul completed his full quota of 4 overs. He then got out second highest batsman Soni as well. That says something about this bowler :two_thumbs_up:
Needforspeed Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 will we see him in ipl? With more number of matches this year MI are likely to play him for some games at least.
msb1991 Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 Good to see someone with pace. Keep in mind though that West Indies have often had Edwards, Taylor and Powell playing together who can all bowl 140kph and it didn't get them Test wins. High skill is necessary but the pace is promising.

It is collective team effort and all department working together make wins possible. BTW, Edwards, Taylor, and Powell rarely played together, even two of them barely played many matches together because of injurries one or two of them. Edwards and Rampaul played together against India in test series and they posed serious questions, only if they had Kemar Roach or Jerome Taylor also bowling from the other end, but is was not.
Singham Posted January 22, 2012 Posted January 22, 2012 I am damn sure our ****ing lazy selectors are not even aware of Rahul Shukla. Once he plays in IPL he will be much talked abt.

I am sure they are not. They are not even aware that our legends are getting old. According to Cheeka it was our best team but he forgot to add that it was our oldest team as well.

That is why, for Irani Trophy, an injured Pawan Suyal was picked when the whole world knew that he was injured. It was in the news because MI had specified his name in the list of their injured players given to the BCCI. Why on earth did the BCCI do away with the talent scouts. They were doing a fair job in giving feedback to the selectors.

Vinay Kumar too may not play many matches there as Yadav, PK, Pathan, and Zak will play most of the matches and Vinay is not a kind of bowler we need to groom or develop.

rkt.india Posted January 22, 2012 Posted January 22, 2012 why not dinda he is in form..and is of right age and has sufficent experience why not try him out? Dinda is good too but can only take 5 pace bowlers and Rahul Shukla has better potential. We always need to take one bowler for grooming purposes on these tours and Shukla is ideal for that with the talent he has. Likes Vinay and Pathan for me do not serve any purpose. Pathan may do well but we all know he will again be back to his rubbish after doing well in few matches and then again will be dropped. I do not see much of an improvement in his bowling since last time I saw him. He is poor version of PK, swing for first 4-5 overs and then crap with poor control.

It looks like he can break down any time.

Needforspeed Posted January 22, 2012 Posted January 22, 2012 On Australian pitches, Vinay will be very appetising for the batsmen. I can already visualize the Aussie batsmen in ODIs making mincemeat of him (Like the English were doing in England). Irfan too is not going to be much effective on Aussie tracks after the first 5 overs. This bowling attack could struggle in the slog overs. Our selectors will never learn. Looking forward to see Rahul Shukla and Abu Nechim in the IPL. I hope some team with a good bowling coach picks up Anwar Ahmed too.
