what has clean image has to do with Best player :dontknow: what is this Surf ad?
aint rockstar competition either. warne supporters, imagine rahul or tendu taking drugs dancing with topless girls in hotel room caught on video shown on india tv . 90% of indian will stop calling these two best player. warne did good because rest of world was absolutely sh*t playing leggie. macgrath performed on indian phatta track. no comparison. dont confuse best with great.warne is great player.but mcgrath was best.

I think its only Indians who rate Mcgrath or anyone above Warne' date=' as Warne was not successful against India and Mcgrath was. Most Aussie fans and others would rate Warne higher. Over the last few decades, there were many like Mcgrath, some even better(Lille), but there was only one like Warne. Will walk into most World XIs, and was rated as 5 cricketers of the century[/quote'] Please check Lille's and Mcgrath's average in subcontinent.Mcgrath was better than Lille and there werent any bowler who was as good as Mcgrath recent memory apart from maybe Marshall. There is no other bowler who dominated batsmen in every country and in every condition like Macgrath did and that includes Warne and Murali. And Warne was rated as top 5 cricketer ahead of Macgrath because it was done by English who are clueless against Spin.

What has personal life to do with cricket performances? And yes, McGrath did bowl well in India but Indians were always good players of leg-spin. What has this to do with best ever? Warne is always put on almost all all time great list by cricket experts over McGrath. IMO Warne is way better than McGrath, aussies never had any dearth of pace bowlers

Someone thinks Mcgrath is better than Warne:rofl: There are many fast bowlers who avg 21-22 in test matches Those playing the avg in India card....please check the avgs of Hadlee Marshall Holding Roberts Donald in India and these are names i am saying from the top of my head without going to the statsguru. Find me a Leggie other than Warne who avgs 25ish that also bowling on those unresponsive made for fast bowler tracks of Australia.

But eventually an average of 21 helps a team better than average of 25ish. Your being leggie or handie is secondary. Mcgrath performed across the world. No one in world could dominate him. He also played a better role in Australi's dominance in ODI's including world cup.

McGrath and Warne are both legends but if I have to choose one, it has to be McGrath who did well even on the flat and slow wickets in India and pretty much everywhere in the world. Indian batsmen particularly struggled against his accurate line and length and seam bowling while they always got the measure of Warne. I still remember in the 2001 series, Warne came from around the wickets to bowl in the rough well outside the leg stump to VVS but he made room and hit him through the covers on the offside for four. Warne was bewildered.

Mcgrath closely followed by Ponting. Australia was very much dependent on the success of those two and they delivered more often than not. Warne worked in tandem with the team. Alone he didn't have the same effect.

To me its like , Aussies depended more on Pwnting when McWarne and Hayden retired and in that time more often than not he failed.

Oh Bhai.....Go and find in histoey how many spin bowlers have 25ish avrage. For spinners to avg 25ish is just brilliant.Only 2-3 bowlers have that, and i mean spinners. There are many more pace bowlers who avg 21 in tests. Warne>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Mcgrath anyday.

This is comical logic. There are plenty of pace bowlers who average 22 in tests whereas only 5-6 spinners average less than 30 in test cricket does that Bedi and Macgill better bowlers than Hadlee and Marshall?

Lille never played in India, and played just 1 series in pakistan, talk abt using stats. There is a reason why Lillee was rated in the Cricinfo World XI(and several all time XIs) and Mcgrath wasn't even in the second XI. Anyways back to the discussion I will put forward 2 points, 1. I can name around 10 fast bowlers close to the level or even better than Mcgrath- Wasim Akram, Waqar, Marshall, Lillee, Holding, Garner, Ambrose, Donald, Pollock, Steyn, but one can name only one who is anywhere close to Warne- Muralitharan 2. Aussies wont miss Mcgrath a lot, there will always be a Lee, Gillespie, Harris( all though never near Mcgath's class, at their peak they are quite good). Pattinson, Cummins all have the potential to be a Mcgrath. But another Warne- not in the next few decades:hatsoff: Make no mistake, I always used to be scared of Mcgrath and not Warne, but there have always been good fast bowlers in Australia , but in a land of spinners like Hauritz, Hogg, Krejza- Warne with 700+ wickets was more useful
