Aussies are even considering playing 4 quicks and have been giving lots of overs to Harris in the nets to ensure he is fit come 3rd Jan. It may not have as much bounce as MCG but will most likely have more lateral movement. All pace attack should be an indicator of things to come. Looking like another lost cause at SCG.

rkt.india Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 SCG has been grassy for the last 2 years. They had changed the nature of the pitch 2 years back against Pak and I had seen a one day domestic of Australia this month before first test and it was a green track at SCG.

In fact SCG has not been the spinnners paradise it was since Warne. Maybe because Aust have had so much trouble finding a good spinner. Withe straight bowling coming through though, there are more worries for india if it is grassy IMO. Aust need a spinner and a proper keeper.

Win will be be great but give me - want to see some classy innings from our greats ( Cmon laxman get that sydney 100, SAchin no better place than SCG where you average 200+) - Yadav and Ishant bowling fast and getting wickets. - Ashwin to establish himself as a strong number 8 bat and lead spinner. - Some sparkling innings from the new guys Kohli or Rohit if kohli continues to fail - i need some hope for the future. - Dhoni to realise what he was known for - loved how he started today - but why stop become a fearsome striker - anyway you are not playing long innings

Thats good batting from Hussey and Ponting not to blame our bowlers.It always happens in Australia when the ball loses its shine and stops swinging. We were 210 for 2 with just 110 runs behind.Yet conceded 50 runs lead.Thats were we lost the match.Not taking the lead despite getting the best batting conditions of the match.

We had their batting on the ropes in both the innings at MCG, with an attack half of whose components were setting foot in Australia for the 1st time EVER. I still think Umesh suffers from rookie jitters. But after picking up 7 wickets in his 1st attempt, i think we can expect an even better performance from him. Ashwin has already shown that he is easily one of the most thoughtful young cricketers going around. He will also get better. Ishant bowled beautifully without luck. And need we even have to mention the masterful Zak? Man for match, our attack is more than match for theirs. If they want to prepare a track with some spice in lit, good luck and god speed to them. Its our batting thats been the issue. If our batsmen can cobble up even a half decent 1st innings performance in Sydney, we are in business.

No, you can check the length and lines in cricinfo hawk eye and i am sure you will find that. Our bowlers gave more four balls than theirs which released the pressure, even Ashwin bowled lot of short balls.
