tbh, our batting line-up is NOT intimidated by the aussie bowlers.... BUT they are intimidated by the thought that over the past 6 months the legends have irrepairably harmed their lofty status and that they are going to go out with a whimper just like all the 'great' players from the subcontinent tend to do. All these batters have dominated many great bowlers all around the world in different conditions so no one intimidates them other than their own legacies.

If James Pattinson was not a fast bowler, I am sure he would have become a doctor because his diagnosis of our batsmen is almost too accurate to be true. For some weird, unexplainable reasons, our batsmen seem simply to ignore to score. They cant seem to go 10 balls without playing a lavish drive through extra-cover. You can do that and get away with it against mediocre bowling on flat decks, but on helpful pitches against superlative bowling, that is literally asking for trouble. Its obvious that the Indian batsmen are simply clueless at this point – They’re simply searching for runs. They’re so desperate that they simply cannot resist even the mildest of baits. If the bowlers keep it tight and don't give any loose balls, as Eng and Aus showed over the last 6 away Tests, we don't have any backup plan. We have likes of Laxman who can't take a quick single and there's no ground big enough for him to run a 3 in. Pattinson is spot on - deny Indian batsmen any loose deliveries and cut off boundaries and they will implode.

Just look at how pontu and hussey got going in the last test.... just drop and run until the bowlers get frustrated and lose their intensity or fall of the game plan..... our snails have only 2 options at the moment (fish outside off stump or let them go)

Aussies have the luxury of dropping their fielders deeper cutting off boundaries knowing fully well we won't take quick singles as our batsmen are too old and unfit for doing the same. When we try to do the same to Aussies they run circles around our fielders and every over has 2-3 singles. And if we bring the fielders in, it opens the way to hit a 4. I doubt Laxman can take a single even if the fielder is 45-50 yards away from the bat and Aussies would probably take 2.

The issue is very simple. 1. Yes, Indians are intimidated by fast bowling, but only when they are on bouncy pitches. They have absolutely no clue how to play on pitches other than flat Indian tracks. 2. Gambhir should be kicked out for now. He has proven himself in ODIs but is severely lacking when it comes to Test Cricket. His attitude is plain wrong out of the gate! He plays a bit timid and defensive and tries to play with soft hands way too often. His whole technique is wrong! He tries desperately to get bat to ball, but only to touch it or defend it.. It is ridiculous to even watch how hard he tries just to defend the ball.. when as a opener he should be playing strokes confidently. 3. We are going to lose this series.. BADLY.. 4. What the Indians need to do is convert half the pitches in India to match the pace and bounce of Aussie pitches and practice more on bowling and especially batting on these clayey pitches. As a team, we severely lack the know-how to play in such pitches...because we are too used to playing in flat pitches that have no resilience.
