At least Dravid does not go on a freewheeling fishing camp outside off-stump like some of our other batsmen. At this point, he's probably the only batsman who is willing to look ugly out there on the pitch. Edit; Let me also add that I felt Shwetabh's characterization of Sachin as a 'walking wicket against Broad and Siddle' was uncalled for and inaccurate.

But dont you think that for a man who has scored 5 centuries last year he looks so shaky, the gap between his bat and pad is huge and he bats similar to Michael Clarke. Even yesterday he got an inside edge to a ball that came in, once yes i can accept that he got a good one but 4 times he has got out in a similar fashion. And these idiot commentators keep calling him the Wall when he is no where close to his best, his defense is so shaky its like watching Dravid of the 99 series against Oz. Dont know what changed in 5 months but he definitely is a big liability right now!

Here's a guy who just had his 2nd best year of his 16 year old international career at the age of 38, played some sterling innings in some really tough conditions in England and West Indies and all it took is just 3 dismissals for the knives to come out? And lets be fair - unlike some of the other batters, some of the deliveries that have dismissed him have been absolute peaches (for eff's sake, the Hilfenhaus delivery that got him the 1st over the 3rd morning was a beauty - swung from outside off-stump, pitched on middle, straightened to hit the top of off...not many would have survived that..) Yes, it is rather surprising that his defense has been breached 3 times (4 if you count the near miss inside edge yesterday), but surely, people are allowed at least a week of poor form are they not, especially after a year of stellar performances?

I am not asking for his head, all i am saying is he looks so damn shaky for a guy who has just had the 2nd best year in his entire career. When he is at the crease you always get a feeling that he is going to get out any moment, even in his 68 he was very scratchy. Just like how you said SRT would be measured by a higher standard i am doing the same thing for Rahul Dravid since you know he has the stuff to combat this kind of bowling. I am just clueless as to why he keeps getting out in the same fashion knowing how serious he is about his batting and his technique.

Why not? We have already seen them pass 300 just once in their last 18 away innings. Another 200 something score wouldn't really be termed as surprising at this point.

Once again i think everyone is focusing too much on the batting. Of course the media is having a field day with our galacticos failing but it's the weak link in our bowling attack that is letting us down.

How can you say that? We managed to get Aussies cheaply last Test and may well do so this test as well. But it won't help if the batsmen don't show up. After some point bowlers' morale will take a hit and they can't keep on bowling throughout the test with just a 60 odd overs break thrown in when our superstars go out and score 200.

I think you're being too critical of Dravid here.
