how the fvck can congress win punjab? Considering the history' date= congress shouldn't be winning a single seat in that state for the next 100 years (no matter how bad the performance of akali dal has been).
Punjab has a history of voting out the incumbent CMs. IIRC Prakash Singh Badal has been CM 4-5 times but he has never been CM for 2 consecutive terms.

Its so scary . Diggi saying 100 seats for congi... Beni is talking confidently as well. Rahul saying he will change the face of UP in case Congress comes in power..... :fear:

^ Thats comforting..... Problem is Congress and BJP pick and promote their politicians from UP to Centre. Even Rahul isnt committed to UP..... UP has been guinea pig ground for most of central politicians. I just hope UP people don't fall in the same trap

Congress is winning in Punjab & Uttarakhand and might play a crucial role in forming the UP govt. So all in all, a satisfactory performance.. Goa will be lost... From tomorrow onwards, Congress will not needs CBI's help to keep Mulayam on track. A mere 'pulling out' the support from the UP Govt. will work.. Mayawati's bad days coming.. Congress will unleash the CBI on her, pretty soon..So that she keeps supporting the UPA on key bills in the Parliament..

Don't be so sure sure of any of these things happening. This time due to a major increase in voting percentages in all states, nobody can predict anything. IMO Congress will win only one of Punjab and Uttrakhand and will lose Goa. In UP I don't think it will do so well as people are predicting. If Congress and SP do form a Govt in UP even then Congress won't be able to bully SP because UPA will need the support of SP in the upcoming Presidential elections and also to pass it major reform bills in Parliament because in case of a SP-Congress Govt in UP, BSP certainly won't support UPA and allies like DMK and Trinamool are not exactly dependable so Congress will need SP. May or may not happen - there's still a good possibility of BSP getting around 120 seats and in that case it may ask the BJP for support (and BJP may oblige) simply to keep Congress and SP out of power. Lets see what happens........just a few hours left now.

S=G.. I like discussing Political issues with you. :icflove: Look what Arun Nehru is up to. Some sort of 4th front formation (behind the scene) work going on..The interested parties are JDU, SP (possibly), TMC, AIADMK, TDP, BJD etc. More regional parties could be roped in. You might've noticed a recent bonhomie and co-ordination among regional parties across the board, on the issue of "federal structure" of the Indian constitution.. Punjab is too close to call IMO. As for UP, it seems like SP will come to power either by buying independents or getting congress to support them. It was funny to see BSP leaders openly saying that Behan Mayawati will have to think about supporting congress govt in the center if they are not supported in time of need. I saw this program on NDTV where a journalist visited some remote and backward area of UP. It was sad to see the kind of criminal record most of these netas have. Then they showed interviews of poor people and you could see in their eyes, they were so scared that SP might come into power and Yadav's will start bullying the dalits again. with all the development in the country, its shocking to see a common man still living in fear just because of his caste :facepalm:

This is why I do not want SP to come in power. Even Mayawati again is a better option. I have witnessed in front of my eyes how the SP gundas killed a BSP MLA in front of whole crowd in Allahabad Civil Lines. God knows how on earth will any body be able to stop Atik Ahmed, Raja Bhaiya and all these gundas if SP comes to power.

:icflove: all this talk of 3rd front and 4th front etc will disappear as we come closer to the 2014 elections because the fact of the matter is that you need 273 to form a Govt and all these parties together won't cross even 100. Also, the most important reason as to why this just cannot work under any circumstances is the big egos of the heads of various state level parties (the likes of Mamata Banerjee, Jayalaitha, MSY, Chandrababu Naidu, Naveen Patnaik - such an eccentric collection!!) who seem to think they are "national leaders" even if their party is restricted to 1 or 2 states in the country. These parties won't last a couple of months until and unless there's a big national party (BJP or Congress) to hold the coalition together and to control the big egos. Experienced politicians like Pranab Mukherjee have trouble controlling regional parties like TMC (same was the case of AB Vajpayee struggling to manage AIADMK or TDP) so how will these regional parties manage to run a Govt by themselves?? All you need is for one of the big two (BJP/Cong) to get a fair number of seats (anything around 170) and all these members of the 3rd front and 4th front will go begging to join the Govt (as SP did in 2004)..........and at least one (if not both) of BJP or Congress WILL get around 170 in 2014 so this 3rd/4th front will not materialize IMO. Also, a good showing by either BJP or Congress in these state elections tomorrow will put to rest this 4th front at least for the time being.

it was better off if SP did not get clear majority and they had to take Congress Support. But now they have majority and UP is f@##$#ked....

^well political parties are made of ppl, most have Gundas, not only SP. Its what other good ppl in SP can do is my question?? are there any Good SP leaders? Is Akhilesh Yadav better than hsi dad??
