Lost a home series to Australia in 004 after a series of losses in ODIs in Eng and in CT, then came the loss to Pak in the cAB golden jubilee match with a 4-5 match ban. In a way its good. I hope Sehwag isn't asked to lead though unless he is being looked at a long term option.

Does that not count in banning people.

We don't have effective replacement captain You are right - I mean how can India even dream of replacing a kaptaan who has just led the team to seven straight losses, can't keep, can't bat, and says away matches are for practice since we play 80% of the times at home.

Sorry, couldn't resist, I still can't get the hang of indian food names. Regardless a new captain with an aggressive mindset could do wonders for India at this stage, and if it pays off who knows, maybe Dhoni will finally have a clear successor. The final test will count for little, so perhaps India need to start looking forward to the ODIs. As WC champions they will be expected to do better in the shorter format, and a more youthful squad might not carry the mental weight that the seniors seem to be labouring under. The word on the grapevine is that the seniors will start fading out after this series, starting with VVS. Does India have the quality players ready to come into the open positions?
