People's memory is short, Dhoni and Co. will come home and start winning here and everything will be pushed under carpet. England's disastarous tour was almost forgotten when they won one day series in India. I just fear this will happen again.(

Everyone knows how tough India are to beat over in India, but it is up to India to prove to the rest of the world they can do it away from home, which I am sure they are capable of. However, that might not happen for a while yet I feel, as India are soon going to have a rebuildig phase, similar to what Australia have been throughm recently.

I dunno, England forgot about the 2006-2007 Ashes demoltion of 5-0 very, very quickly once they won them back in 2009. I think it's different for India though, we all know how well they play at home, the litmus test is performing overseas. There can't be much satisfaction in beating up on the Bangas and Zimbos on dustbowls at home when you consistently lose by an innings every match away from India.

Blokes been getting standing ovations every time he comes out to bat for the last 5 years as everyone has thought his retirement is imminent. :cantstop: He still looks so good though, no reason he can't go for another year or two at least, but as evidenced with Dravid and Laxman, when the end comes, it comes very quickly.

Form wise sachin is no greater than dravid.. its the runs on the board that count and sachin is far behind dravid as far a the last 10 tests go.. in ODis i would want sachin to retire ASAP.. the team is bigger than the individual and sachin prolonging his career serves no purpose because he is not going to be part of 2015 WC team.. better to give the chance to a deserving youngster to gain more match experience...

I'm talking of the recent period where you've lost 9 of your past 11 overseas Test matches, unless your youngsters can fill the shoes of Sachin, VVS, Sewag and Dravid (form aside these guys are all very close to retirement and leave huge holes in your side) I can't see India's away form improving anytime soon. Most of it seems to be mental though, the talent is there. Also helps to have better preparation and more nets sessions to adjust to the various pitches. From what I heard the Indian team chose to do some go-karting rather than spend some serious time in the WACA nets, I understand the tracks there are very similar to the real thing.

It's 7 of past 11 although it's till pretty bad. :hysterical: i have full faith kohli rohit etc will perform given chances. about preparation, even umesh and kohli went go karting. they did pretty well. england came to india recently 2 wks before, did loads of preparation etc etc got whitewashed. this prep thin is overrated. thing is our seniors have gone old and need to be phased out.
