special K
Australia's "rivalry" with England is just to make them feel important. It's an interesting fact that their decreasing relevance on the world stage is a function of the time since the invention of cricket. They are literally so bad that it ruined their empire. Quite the opposite. It's Australia who feel they have to win to be significant back in the UK. Australia's like that little brother you ignore when your around your mates. Think the significant nations like France, Germany, Spain. Outside cricket Australia sucks too much to have a rivalry with. Link to comment
special K
Cricket and Soccer comparisons India -> Brazil (Play with Flair ,have won WC mulltiple times, crazy supporters,Money) Pakistan->Argentina (Equally talented as India but cheat ) Australia -> Germany (Disciplined and always dominate all tourneys) England->England ('nuff said) Sri Lanka-> Spain(nation that produces great players, exceptional talent) SA -> Portugal (big players that fail on the big stage) NZ -> South Korea(always surprises, plays as a unit, fast and agile) BD-> Serbia and Montenegro Brazil doesn't lose 7 in a row. express bowling
One difference between the Australians and the English is --- The Aussies criticise strongly when others lose but are very appreciative when somebody does well against them. Most English are rarely appreciative of others ( I am sure there are a couple of exceptions ). Link to comment
