Late Cut Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 Story of Indian cricket. As I have said many times before' date=' it is simply a cultural thing. There is no way Australia would have tolerated this. Our players will literally have to forced out. Either ways, Indian cricket is going to be in a mess for some time. Sometimes, you wish to be proved wrong. This team has been hell bent on doing otherwise.[/quote'] Pretty much; performance means little, senority and reputation does. And yes, Tendulkar belongs in this category too, he is just as culpable. Dravid keeping wickets:cantstop::cantstop::cantstop: Give the bowlers beach balls...
rkt.india Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 Apparently Laxman working very hard in nets to prove everyone wrong :winky:. It wont happen and seriously I dont see that even happening later this year.Listening to some of our players and officials interviews and press confrences, they are still living in delusions about our legends and are still in denial mode.So unless ,our legends go on their own ,we wont be able to rebuild with new players. dont think if these officials even have seen one session of the series full.
Lord Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 they should make Rohit keep wickets if he wanna play:P
Zelch Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 I hope this stupidity doesnt draag on like with the cricketers of yester year..
Dravid_TheWall Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 Make Dravid the wicket keeper for this match. The gloves will stop him hovering at slip and will help him catch :giggle: Same time we can get Rohit in without dropping any of our batting legends. Also will help us avoid whitewash having the extra batsmen. I would also change the batting order. Dravid and Gauti should open. Sehwag in middle order. Lots of responsibility for Dravid at 39 :cantstop:
Singham Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 I think they gonna rest Virat and play Rohit.:haha:

Dravid_TheWall Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 i agree but if they cant take one for team then i think they are not good/fit enough to play for team Agree in theory but Dravid has done a lot for the team and gone outside his comfort zone. eg he was wicketkeeper in 03 world cup, has opened for us in a emergency-once to accomodate Dada during Pak tour under Chappell. I hope we play 7 batsmen, this is our best chance. Sehwag is captain and he may choose to bat himself in middle order.
J P K Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 I think they gonna rest Virat and play Rohit.:haha: same feeling :((

sarcastic Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 Rohit Sharma should debut in Adelaide Test: Dilip Vengsarkar Former chairman of selectors Dilip Vengsarkar, believes, Rohit Sharma should be in the playing XI for the Adelaide Test against Australia starting January 24. According to Vengsarkar, the Adelaide pitch will help the batsmen and so it would help the debutant. "The Adelaide wicket will assist the batsmen and so I think Rohit should be in the XI. I cannot understand the logic of keeping Rohit out of the XI," Vengsarkar told MiD DAY. "We have lost three Tests and if you don't try a youngster like Rohit, when will you? It's true that he hasn't played competitive cricket for a month or so, but that shouldn't be held against him," the former India captain felt. The former India batsman said India need to draft an extra spinner in the playing XI. "We should include Pragyan Ojha in place of a seamer, but I cannot comment on who to be dropped as the team management is the best judge," he added. Ask about Rohit's inclusion to another former chairman of selectors, Kiran More, echoÃÔ Vengsarkars views. "Rohit should play now. Even if he scores a duck, he should continue playing. We are in a transition process and drafting in a talented batsman like Rohit should be seen as an investment. After all, the Rohits and Virats (Kohli) are the future of Indian cricket," More said. The former wicket-keeper said he it for the team-think to decide who Rohit should replace in the middle-order. "I cannot pinpoint as I am not sure what combination they would like to play. From a selector's viewpoint, I shouldn't be singling out anybody. It's the team think-tank's call," he said.

When you "actually" open it is different. Lax and Dravid have said similar things about difference between no3 and opening. I don't mind shifting the batting position but no4 should not change. Tendulkar should stay there. I would put Rohit at 3 and let him express himself. Gauti, Dravid,Rohit, Tendu, Sehwag, Lax, Kohli. Will also help to break up the inexperience of Kohli and Rohit.

He is very talented and we already 3-0 down. He will have no pressure.

Its better to play Rohit Sharma and lose by an innings rather than play VVS and still lose by an innings. At least we would have started the process of finding long term solutions. Unfortunately looking at the news (VVS practising hard) it's not likely to happen.
