Raghav_12 Posted January 23, 2012 Posted January 23, 2012 Hope Dilshan's decision inspires some other captain who has done much worse than him in recent times, despite having much better team.
zep1706 Posted January 23, 2012 Posted January 23, 2012 If this is just about the loss in SA then I must say it's an overreaction. I mean SL did better than what was expected of them. But I think there is more to the story than meets the eye.
Old guy Posted January 24, 2012 Posted January 24, 2012 awesome :yay: always hated dilshan the captain still a good batter
Texy Posted January 24, 2012 Posted January 24, 2012 this is a step back for SL cricket....why not give captaincy to someone younger like Matthews?
prinzo Posted January 24, 2012 Posted January 24, 2012 Yes it is a major shock and embarrasment for the former world champions to be tamed in Africa like that
Pagalpanti Posted January 24, 2012 Posted January 24, 2012 ^U serious? Chokers got lucky with the rain this time or they'd have been 2-3 down
Square Drive Posted January 24, 2012 Posted January 24, 2012 It looks the best bet but I'm worried about Matthews attitude. The Chandimal Lords incident and a couple others suggest he isn't really a "team-first" individual. 100% agree. 2nd ODI - batted too slowly looking for a not-out instead of going for the kill in the last 5 overs. Then the team ended up with 5 wickets in hand and 25/30 runs short of a respectable total on that pitch. 5th ODI - when the top order batsmen have already done the hard work and deserved all the credit, Mathoose went for glory hunting and put the team under pressure. Upul Tharanga is the better option IMO.

Chokers got lucky with the rain this time or they'd have been 2-3 down :phehehe:

Sri Lanka should hope, so does Matthews. I think he would be a good understudy for Jayawardene's stewardship. It's about time though he took over the arm band in T20.
adi B Posted January 24, 2012 Posted January 24, 2012 Yes it is a major shock and embarrasment for the former world champions to be tamed in Africa like that ur side when toured lanka last time, lost 5-0 in odi`s lankans did pretty to lose only 2-3, considering their form was **** coming to the series nd saf playing at home.... rather lanka would have won the series 3-2, saffers would surely have chocked chasing 267
