Magneto Posted January 27, 2012 Posted January 27, 2012 no need .. we have rohit, virat, dhoni sehwag we dont lack firepower to hit spinners :winky: You're severely underestimating Raina here. Mark my words - He'll be back with a bang soon.
Old guy Posted January 27, 2012 Posted January 27, 2012 You're severely underestimating Raina here. Mark my words - He'll be back with a bang soon. i would be happy if he does man but i dont think he will
CG Posted January 27, 2012 Posted January 27, 2012 i would be happy if he does man but i dont think he will Raina being a left hander adds variety to the lineup and Its not only about big hitting ,raina plays spin very well and he is somebody who performs in pressure situations,Yes he has a weakness against short ball,But he will get better at it.
J P K Posted January 27, 2012 Posted January 27, 2012 i want kohli at no 3 but i feel sehwag might come in at no 3
Number Posted January 27, 2012 Posted January 27, 2012 i want kohli at no 3 but i feel sehwag might come in at no 3 :headshake:
Singham Posted January 27, 2012 Posted January 27, 2012 Sehwag can be devastating in middle order. He played in middle order for Delhi ranji team. Ideal player for middle order.
The Dark Horse Posted January 27, 2012 Posted January 27, 2012 I say try Mukund even in no. 3 or middle order. With persisting with Gambhir and Sehwag I think we are wasting a talent.
BeautifulGame Posted January 27, 2012 Posted January 27, 2012 Raina being a left hander adds variety to the lineup and Its not only about big hitting ' date='raina plays spin very well and he is somebody who performs in pressure situations,Yes he has a weakness against short ball,But he will get better at it.[/quote'] Raina looked clueless when faced with good spin even in India. Its a myth Raina is a good player in India.his batting against in the newzealand test series was embarrassing to say the least. People still go by his 100 in debut which was probably the flattest wicket we played in recent memory. He wont get similar wickets again even in India.he will be brutally exposed even in our low slow wickets. He gets away with his technique against spinners because or restrictions and no close in fielders.Wont be able to do the same in tests. I frankly cant believe there are people who believe Raina can still make it as test batsmen. His record even at Ranji level is mediocre. He never was / is test material. It just shows the stupidity of selectors to choose him for tests based on ODI performances
Cricket Tragic Posted January 27, 2012 Posted January 27, 2012 If Manish Pandey ever becomes a successful test player, I promise to have a sex reassignment operation. The guy is a hack.
BERGKAMP Posted January 27, 2012 Posted January 27, 2012 Rahane Mukund Pujara Rohit Kohli Bist/Surya-Kumar Saha/Kaul/N.Ojha

BeautifulGame Posted January 27, 2012 Posted January 27, 2012 If Manish Pandey ever becomes a successful test player' date=' I promise to have a sex reassignment operation. The guy is a hack.[/quote'] I think u are unfairly underestimating him possibly based on his slogging in IPL. He has really played some high quality innings for Karnataka in some really tough conditions for batting. His knock in Ranji final vs Mumbai case in point. He can a good counter attacking middle order batsman in test team in my opinion.
India-KXIP fan Posted January 27, 2012 Posted January 27, 2012 Kohli at 3 and Sehwag at 4. If Pujara proves himself then Kohli can go to 5.

I don't watch the circus league so that's not the reason. Anyway, we'll see.

Struggles against bouncers. Not a test match material.
bharat297 Posted January 27, 2012 Posted January 27, 2012 Sehwag doesn't deserve a middle order spot. Playing recklessly and unaware of the situation doesn't warrant a middle order spot. My side for the England series: 1. Rahane 2. Gambhir © 3. Kohli 4. Sharma 5. Pujara 6. Saha 7. Ashwin 8. Zaheer 9. Ojha 10. Praveen 11. Yadav Kohli is the ideal no.3 for me. He's technically solid and can counterattack early and he's a fighter. A bit of Ponting in the way he bats
