saneindian Posted February 19, 2012 Posted February 19, 2012 What are you talking about? He played 2 matches before and bowled decently well in both matches, took 2 wickets at Adelaide and think, no bowler could swing the ball at Adelaide, the best batting track in Australia. He bowled with Kookabura even in ODIs against WI and he is an aggressive bowler, give him new ball, he may go for runs but he will give you wickets as well and Kookabura swings only for first few overs. Today too he was not given ball while he could have done better than Vinay and Irfan in the last 2-3 overs, remember Vinay was fro 4 consecutive fours helplessly by Christian. While no batsman could hit Yadav freely, most times he went for 4 when he strayed in line. So Yadav has never been hit in the death overs? Didn't Andre Russel take him to the cleaners in an ODI recently hitting 21-22 runs?
asterix Posted February 19, 2012 Posted February 19, 2012 As bad as the decision of MSD to bowl Umesh in the 23rd over is' date=' in the earlier matches Umesh bowled with a 5-6 overs old ball and could not swing it at all, has shown a lack of control with the white kookaburra so far and is struggling to find length to bowl at in the ODIs.[/quote'] Don't select him then, instead of screwing his career..What's point of playing Jaddu? Diffferent pitch, different conditions. You don't have to apply same logic or strategy, in every match on different conditions..
Sooda Posted February 19, 2012 Posted February 19, 2012 I think Jaddu would have bowled, though I am not sure if he has been bowling so well this series, had Raina not had a decent spell and Rohit picked up a wicket too. Ashwin should have played instead of Umesh at least, yes, playing 4 pacemen is a bit silly. Or even Towary and giving us a long batting lineup, perhaps a bowler short though going into it. Especially bringing the quickest of the pacemen so late in the game... Do not understand it.
Number Posted February 19, 2012 Posted February 19, 2012 in conspiracy theory mode ,after first innings today I feel Dhoni has been pressurized to pick Jadeja. How can he not bowl a single over today.
gaurav92 Posted February 19, 2012 Posted February 19, 2012 I think Jaddu would have bowled' date=' though I am not sure if he has been bowling so well this series, had Raina not had a decent spell and Rohit picked up a wicket too. rkt.india Posted February 19, 2012 Author Posted February 19, 2012 Don't select him then, instead of screwing his career..What's point of playing Jaddu? Diffferent pitch, different conditions. You don't have to apply same logic or strategy, in every match on different conditions.. Thing is what is the use bringing fast bowler in 23rd over. If you do not use him well, do not play him. Dhoni bowled Zak and Vinay straight for 10 overs that is the time especially in Aus where you build pressure and take wickets. This is not India where batsmen can pile on the bowler's misery on flat tracks. There is always something fro pacers with the new ball at most places, like Gaba, Perth, MCG, especially, but we saw Raina bowled 11th over for us who is at best a part timer and not a wicket taking option. You cannot contain if you dont take wickets. Same thing happened here.

CG Posted February 19, 2012 Posted February 19, 2012 Used as a part timer? He has struggled when bowling with a newish kookaburra, so maybe the ploy was to use him in the middle and the death overs with the slightly older ball. Unfortunately he did not look in any rhythm at all and hence did not finish his quota of overs. I am happy to see that Umesh is still been encouraged to go out there and bowl at full tilt :hysterical::hysterical: What rubbish. Umesh bowled well agianst australia taking wickets of clarke ,even though he was brought first change prompting gambhir to say he has been find of the tour and agian inspite of bring brought as third change did decently agianst srilanka.
CG Posted February 19, 2012 Posted February 19, 2012 So Yadav has never been hit in the death overs? Didn't Andre Russel take him to the cleaners in an ODI recently hitting 21-22 runs? he did hit him but batsman would have to take greater risk than to hit the trundler v.k.
Sooda Posted February 19, 2012 Posted February 19, 2012 We played 4 pacers even in the last CB series. Yes but Ashwin has been good here. Ishant and Irfan were both bowling well that series, and so was Santh. Pace attack was generally in better form. Relatively speaking anyway. But not much forethought here it seems, if Umesh was not going to bowl early why not play Ashwin as he can bat and has been in good bowling form

He has bowled well against SL only and he even did not bowl Jaddu here.
asterix Posted February 19, 2012 Posted February 19, 2012 no Ashwin has been poor in every match against Australia. He has bowled well against SL only and he even did not bowl Jaddu here. But this pitch could've suited Ashwin..In any case he bats better than that overhyped Jaddu..
rkt.india Posted February 19, 2012 Author Posted February 19, 2012 But this pitch could've suited Ashwin..In any case he bats better than that overhyped Jaddu.. he is batting better than most our top batsmen. He should play next match and jaddu out at the same venue.
The Outsider Posted February 19, 2012 Posted February 19, 2012 So, we played 4 fast bowlers and the fastest of them got to bowl after Raina?
exams Posted February 19, 2012 Posted February 19, 2012 the question is why dhoni is not bowling himself
rkt.india Posted February 19, 2012 Author Posted February 19, 2012 So' date=' we played 4 fast bowlers and the fastest of them got to bowl after Raina? [/quote'] in 23rd over to be exact.
Ultimate_Game Posted February 19, 2012 Posted February 19, 2012 No idea what Jaddu is doing in the team and 4 fast bowlers simply doesn't work for us no matter what the venue (WACA, Gabba etc.) Ashwin should have played in place of a pacer and Jaddu should have been dropped for a batsman.
