:hysterical: You again missing the point 'Cricket God'. So why according to you Indian bowlers struggle more whereas other teams bowlers with even lesser first class experience looks like gods of cricket. I am talking about genuine quicks here.
Every young bowlers goes through struggles,All the guys you mentioned will go or have already 3 matches with out any performance .Its stupid to create threads after 3 failures in odi,yes if failed in tests then we could have talked.

I am not saying Yadav is a failure. My point is, when such talent comes on the scene, team management should take care that he should be used in a best possible way. Other thing is if he was groomed properly by BCCI before his inclusion in Indian team, then he'd have performed much better. He was not groomed properly by BCCI. And also he has not been able to perform upto his potential. Sometimes team management doesn't make the best use of him and sometimes he is clueless what to do in different situations. Delange's 40 runs were acceptable in the context of the match and given that was his first T20 match. But Yadav has some experience now and his performance in the context of the match was not acceptable. Look at how well Sri-lankan bowlers have bowled so far in first 15 overs on the same pitch where Umesh Yadav was looking like a club bowler and had no clue
i remember donald's interview after debut 7 wicket haul of del ange... "he hasnt even found his natural length yet!" thats wht he said! so no u dont really always find international test class fast bowlers from word go even if u find osme one talented in first 2 years even in national team u have to groom them cos in most of the countries the quality diff between domestic cricket and international is too much i rememb steyn getting lot of stick against Australia when he was new its totally normal tbh wht we needed was a bowler who can get wickets we got him..thats his talent his weakness is he can be inconsisstent thats where now coach, experince, backing of captain comes in! pattinson wasnt bowling htis consistently before he worked har with coach in 2 back to back series he worked on his length work started when australia were touring sri lanka and they kept working through out south africa tour then finally against new zealand he got it right and then destroyed them and india :P

Why is it so difficult for some of us here to accept that Umesh has not been bowling with any accuracy or plan at all. Even when he got wickets in the tests or in earlier series, it was due to some brilliant quick deliveries amidst a host of wayward ones. He needs to improve this aspect if he wants to be a good bowler .... period. Indian cricket has never supported or groomed young fast bowlers to become better bowlers without losing speed. I hope Umesh does not face the same faith. Bowling coach and seniors should guide him and support him to bowl well and to a plan at his natural high speeds. I am not sure he is receiving that guidance and encouragement like a Pattinson Starc or Cummions is.

Oh really! Guys' date=' we have got a totally new thought coming from Mr Newton. So Mr Newton, you mean to say that he needs to be sent back to domestic cricket and play there coz according to you he has not played enough first class. Is that what you mean? Can you please check my above post[/quote'] i meant our domestic cricket is crap for phasst bowler. why would i want to send a phast bowler to bowl on phatta tracks? i would rather send him in county or something. another brainfart from you is comparing performances in domestic cricket of Australia, south Africa to Indian domestic. their standard is way higher then ours. any guy brought up those and performing in those will be better then our domestic product.

The bowling coach primarily, also captain, team management and senior players. i wouls really like to know what the role of the team india bowling coach is ? We have changed Eric Simmons but when the new guy comes what will his role and responsibilities be ? If a bowling coach cannot improve a young 150 k bowler who can swing, seam and reverse the ball then what is he doing exactly ? Just look at what McDermott has done with young Aussie quicks ! Secondly, are the captain and seniors guiding the young players and telling them how to improve, like an Imran Khan did with Wasim and Waqar ? Brett lLee is working with Pattinson to improve him and share his experience with the kid. Is the same thing happening with Umesh and Co. ? Is Dhoni talking with him when he bowls badly and trying to rectify the non technical aspects ? Most probably no. Instead Umesh is given the ball in the 23rd over on a pacer friendly pitch.

Let Yadav play afew matches.Vinay ******* Kumar was persisted with even though he had worse performances.Yadav is something we never had.A quick bowler.Quick bowlers wont be accurate when they start and will with time become accurate.Ofcourse we dont understand that because we never had a fast bowler and with this mentaloty will never had another one and then we cry we dont have fast bowlers.pathetic stuff by a few posters here. DeLange may not have hit his natural length as yet but he has already picked a 7 wkt haul against a formidable batting line-up against Sri-Lanka. You know they played him as a surprise weapon against Sri-Lanka in that test. Pl try to understand what I am saying. They, South Africa knew that DeLange in his first match can work as a surprise weapon but at the same time, it can go against them as well. He can be belted all around the park. Its totally different thing having a surprise weapon and its totally different knowing how to make the best use of it. Thats my whole point. And South Africa made sure that DeLange just had to be successful, there was no other choice. They didn't have that lazy attitude in their mind- Ok he is a new-comer. He can take some time settling into international cricket. They had only one option in their minds that Delange had to be successful. About your second point on Pattinson, there you are saying the same thing that I am saying. Look at how many matches Pattinson has played, 2 ODIs and 4 Tests so far. And in this such a short span of International cricket, Australian team mgt and coaching staff have recognized Pattinson's weakness and started working on it and got the results against NZ and India. Whereas Umesh Yadav has just not been even able to settle his feet in international level as yet. Thats what I meant by 'Failure of our System'.

Totally agree. He was not groomed properly in the junior cricket or even at the senior level. Thats why he is now struggling at international cricket. He doesn't even have a stock ball or a surprise weapon. In test matches, he hardly bowled 1 or 2 maiden overs here and there. He has no control. He have natural pace and it was recognized about 2-3 yrs back. Then he was groomed for about a year under some local coaches here and there. Obviously, when he came to international cricket last year against England, he was a lot improved bowler but still there was a long way to go to play at international level. On top of that, our team culture is very much laid back type. So, there was not much work done on him after his arrival into international cricket.

Lol @ this thread. We make such a fuss over the pace of our bowlers yet when we have genuine quicks like Ishant and Yadav, we complain when they lack some of the other more important attributes like accuracy and consistency. Yadav is struggling no doubt, but he's not going to learn anything unless he keeps playing. Our domestic tournament is where cricketers go to die, and net bowling won't do him any good (especially since most of our batsmen are out of form). Persevere with him and give him a year or so to really hone his craft and be a genuine leader of the attack.

None. its too early to say. he was a bit unlucky today with quite a boundaries.
He is like Yusuf Pathan of fast bowling. Just like Yusuf Pathan doesn't have any proper game and relies only on big-hitting, Umesh Yadav too doesn't have any proper thinking or planning or control on his bowling and just relies on pace spraying all around
