Sachin quest for his 100th 100. Its clear that he was selected (which obviously was approved by him) for ODI for his 100th 100. I really dont care if he gets this or not. I want to see India win & win all the time...with or without Sachin & his quest for 100th 100

it is our sporting culture (or lack of it) that has to be blamed for than anything else in general, Indians are pathetic in sports. Remember all that cry about a nation of billion not being able to win too many medals at the Olympics. I was at a loss of words to see how our football team used to get thrashed. The knight in the shinning armor has been cricket. We have been able to compete in cricket mainly because there are lesser teams and some great players coming out. Despite cricket being the "only" major sport, hardly any initiatives are taken at the grass root level. The BCCI acts like a novice in spite of leading the revenue. In such a scenario, poor fans (who need something to brag about to keep them motivated) resort to player worshiping. From a team sports, cricket becomes a sport where a few individuals are bigger than the game. Whether it is Kapil chasing Hadlee's record or Sachin chasing a the meaningless 100th 100, you keep them in the team until they can achieve the milestones so the poor fans have something to cheer about. Is this how sports should be played? Is this how we develop our sporting culture? How would India know! So what's there to blame? You reap what you sow.

lets start the blame game who should be blamed after India loses this series in the upcoming days?
They are out already. Don't think they can catch up with Aussies or Lankans. As DomainK said there are too many problems/issues to be blamed on an individual or two. One key thing for sure is that the team is not united. That's very clear based on the remarks by Dhoni, Sehwag, Gambhir, BCCI and the media manager, and I haven't seen too many disunited teams do anything of note. Our situation currently is the same as France's in the last world cup. Haven't seen our team so disunited in a long long time and it almost looks like it's a Paki team out there :haha: Oh yeah, and this team can't bat, can't bowl, can't field and can't toss :haha:

The dysfunction starts right at the top. The BCCI's time is mainly spent on the tamasha premier league and settling the myriad disputes that arise out of it. Meanwhile, while the team's performances sink to a level that would disgrace Bangladesh and the players are openly attacking each other in press conferences in a foreign country, the BCCI president comes up with some absurd statement about "powerful" teams and transition and the media manager tells everyone to "forget" about it. Add to the fact that the players are guaranteed millions and millions of dollars for next to no work in the tamasha tournament and its no surprise why the Indian team is the biggest joke in the world of cricket right now.

The opposition.
Add Duncan to the list. On paper this is not that bad a team. Not sure what happened after this guy took over. we have been going downhill.
The team. It would be stupid to pin it any single individual.
@OP' date=' pls add dysfunctional BCCI and team not united (or disharmony in the team) in the poll.[/quote'] i donno how to add new options even if i find a way to add i can post only 10 options so far i have got 12 options

Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar :I dont think all this rotation nonsense would have taken place,if Sach wasnt selected in the 1st place. His non-selection would've meant same eleven as we played in T20s,meaning a settled and same opening pair for all the matches.I would never drop a opener who scored a 200 in his previous ODI series. And I dont think its about that 100th 100 ****,Sach is too good to play for that record.

The very fact that we are running out of space to put up reasons for failure proves the shape we are in :haha:

Seriously? If Sach wasn't selected, then Rahane would have been selected and would have been warming the bench according to your argument. This was the team for T20s: Gambhir Sehwag Kohli Raina Sharma Dhoni Jadeja Ashwin Sharma Vinay Kumar Praveen Kumar Where would you have slotted Rahane? How many games has Rahul Sharma played so far? Why does Jadeja keep getting game after game? Why is Praveen Kumar still in the team even though he hasn't done jackshit in ODIS in the last 2 years. Ashwin has been dissappointing as well + add in the fact that he sucks at running between the wickets and he's a useless fielder, it completely undermines his bowling provided he has good days. Sehwag hasn't done jackshit in ODIs either apart from that 219. Rohit Sharma hasn't done anything. Raina is hit and miss these days. Captain cool cost us a victory against Lanka. Pappu is useless. There are lots of reason why we're in this mess and the opening combination is one of them but it's not as easy as you have argued.
