Why did he chose to hit over mid off with very less power given that there was long off already in place ? All things point to one fact - Aussies always wanted SL in the final. We can show all kind of bravado now that we are actually not in the finals but to actually beat Aussies required far better performances than what the Indian team has shown all summer, barring one match

I agree that our performances has been terrible in this series apart from a couple of games. But I am sure that we would have shown a much better performance in the finals.

As much as I wanted India to reach the finals, Sri Lanka looked more determined and desperate to win. Indian team just didnt look hungry enough to win and there were a couple of dead weights right at the top of the order pulling them down. SL also competed better against Australia, so it was a fair result. :dontknow:

Well done. SL top order - Mahela, Sanga & Chandimal have looked better than India's plus Angelo Mathews being strong in middle order and their bowling was better as well. India's savng grace has largely been Kohli, Dhoni and to an extent Gambhir. We just didnt deserver to be in the finals.

We beat the crap out of them because their team is far too familiar for us. But Srilanka did well against Ozzies 3 times in a row against whom we have been struggling all this season.
