So you are trying to compare an average cricket fan with a professional cricketer :hysterical: Amazing!!! While you are at it why don't you add that he has played for India whereas most of the chaps criticizing him haven't. If there's an example of debating a person instead of argument, this is it :haha: For those who don't know what "debating a person instead of argument is", just like the op it means to focus on the issues raised by person/people rather than being defensive and focus on the person/people who raised those points. By OP's logic Tendulkar should be in the team forever coz he can only be criticized or dropped by someone who has scored more than 99 centuries :haha:

Here's counter argument to that: His 99 centuries were for himself. Did India win 99 times? No. How many times India has lost due to his intent of getting a century to increase his record i.e slowing down to get to a century regardless of match situation? That's not even someone can quantitatively measure. India lost 24 matches where he scored a century and India lost but its actually more than that. Those games where he got out in 90's trying to get a century, slowing the run rate down for personal record and India lost, that also can be attributed to that. At least some part of blame should go to him. Sachin's best innings were those where he played freely like 2003 WC against Pakistan but he didnt score a century there. See the difference? Only two exceptions to that would be his two 100's in sharjah where he completely was positive from the word go to the end of innings. Given that Tendulkar has played for so long, he has failed most of the times to dig India out of the hole on his own. For example in recent 8-0 drubbing, there wasn't a single game where Tendulkar changed the game with his magic innings which should have come at least once in 16 innings. India comes first, not the individuals. He served his time, got the respect, now he should make way for others. Personal records dont mean a sh*t over national interests.

what a load of rubbish, you can say this about any player!! Tendulkar is the one batsman i have never thought has "slowed down" when approaching his 100, his SR shows you that 86 in ODI - which for an opener you will struggle to find better bar Shitwag (i know this doesnt back up my point but unless you watch each of those innings you cant tell definitely). And your own stats show an interesting point..India has ONLY LOST 24 matches when he has scored a 100, so we have won/drawn 76% of the time when SRT gets a 100 which is a phenomenal ratio and doesnt suggest he is scoring for himself.

not much of a watcher of indian games but i remember one IPL match where he scored a ton off the last ball of the innings by pushing and jogging for a run. their total was then chased down in a thrilling fashion. had he been selfless and went for a big shot and cleared the boundary their team could have won the match. (maybe he could've been dismissed and the team could've ended up one more short, but imo what he did there looked really selfish)

Wow! When was that?
His 99 centuries were for himself. Did India win 99 times? No.
And India has won more matches when Tendulkar scored a ton. I mean seriously? How on earth do you expect the team to win 99 times because Sachin scored a ton 99 times. Dravid scored 3 tons in England..how many of them did India win ? How can you except a team to win when an individual scores a century?

Tendulkar has done nothing, in fact on the England tour and the Aussie tour the guy has just been playing for the 100 century, he is a choker and is no way a great of the game. Has never done anything in a crunch situation, I used to respect and love him but sorry to say he is selfish, will never be a great in my opinion, as much as I dislike Ponting at least he has won many a game for Australia. In fact the whole Indian team is a joke and a disgrace, they don;t care about the country all they care about is their bank balances. Glad they didn't make the ODI finals in Australia, fat, lazy and overrated.
