Cricket Tragic Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 He plays some lazy shots in the first 10 deliveries though which often go through the vacant slip region in ODIs. He will have to be tight and can't afford such sloppy shots in tests.
IKnowU Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 Rohit Please make it count this time onwards :nervous:

Manny_Pacquiao Posted March 19, 2012 Posted March 19, 2012 rohit will ALWAYS be a disappointment in odis. guy isnt suited for this format, period. u guys can praise him whenever he scores 50, but thats the reality of it. he wont get it done most of the time, unless he plays against a weaker team, i.e. windies/zimbangwe/sri lanka/pakistan. we're better off bringing in another mumbai batsman, suryakumar yadav. that guy is a monster.
Sidhoni Posted March 19, 2012 Posted March 19, 2012 He was frustrating me with those dot balls in the middle overs. I threw things at the television while we was constantly playing dot balls. But, he made up for those in the end.
peterparker Posted March 19, 2012 Posted March 19, 2012 Crunch knock when we needed it. ANother wicket at that stage and the chase could have been derailed. And that pull shot for a 6 was perhaps the shot of the tournament so far. yes..the pull shot...in CB series also, he had hit the same shot of STARC yesterday was RIAZ who took the blow.. only he can hit them at ease

Vijy Posted March 19, 2012 Posted March 19, 2012 This was a good knock - but there were far too many dot balls throughout including towards the very end as well. If Kohli hadn't been going ballistic and picking up boundaries at will, things would have been very difficult.

With the kind of technique he has, he just needs to spend more time in the middle - will be fine.
Vijy Posted March 19, 2012 Posted March 19, 2012 With the kind of technique he has' date=' he just needs to spend more time in the middle - will be fine.[/quote'] I'm certainly not bashing Rohit, but he needs to work on strike rotation - reminds me a little about Dravid before he reinvented himself and became an excellent finisher. Rohit has the shots, but if he can pick up his strike rotation, he will become a very good asset to the team.
Sachin=GOD Posted March 19, 2012 Posted March 19, 2012 Bring this guy in Tests ASAP. Now Dravid has retired so a spot has opened in the batting order and Rohit must get a chance there. Before people start shouting "Kohli Kohli" - he already has no 6 in Tests. If I may compare him to a footballer, I'd say he looks like Berbatov - classy, languid and a treat to watch when in form.

I am just saying, it is time before I start getting worried about his perceived inability to rotate strike. That will come naturally after he starts spending time in the middle.
phaedrus Posted March 19, 2012 Posted March 19, 2012 its about getting a taste of success at the international arena. once he finishes off a few matches on his own against good teams he will be a changed batsman, just like Kohli.

CasualVisitor Posted March 19, 2012 Posted March 19, 2012 With the kind of technique he has' date=' he just needs to spend more time in the middle - will be fine.[/quote'] I think more than the technique, it is a result of being cheeky/innovative/street-smart.
