akshayxyz Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 Good knock under pressure. Kept his cool, until that one shot. Well done. Hope we get to see some Kohli-esque knock from you in the future.
Sachin=GOD Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 Well played. He played according to the situation. It seems he has got fitter.
J P K Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 Dhoni: "They batted brilliantly, we used 8 bowlers. Sachin and Virat batted brilliantly, Rohit can be a good finisher. Kohli was brilliant. Once you cross 300 it's difficult irrespective of how flat the pitch is, we did it in Hobart. We've got the talent in the bowling departmet also. It's about how you handle pressure, they will learn from games like these." finally dhoni got it rohit can be good finisher he can play down the order hope dhoni does not promote him up the order again
Number Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 Played well. TBH , surpassed my expectations by a mile for this game.
saneindian Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 Crunch knock when we needed it. ANother wicket at that stage and the chase could have been derailed. And that pull shot for a 6 was perhaps the shot of the tournament so far.

Lord Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 tbh didnt want him to play, but fantastic innings.hopefully he is more consistent from now on
ViruRulez Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 To be honest, he played sensibly but was not in flow from what I noticed. Could have gone either way. The 10-15 run gap between balls faced was a bit of a concern in the middle. But Kohli was releasing the pressure by hitting fours of the overs. I would say good knock but to be honest, it could have backfired in a crunch game. He still is not playing to his full potential. He is equal in technique if not better than Kohli but both look completely different when playing for the Indian team in the field.
Ultimate_Game Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 That's why Rohit is backed so much and everyone can see the potential he has. And that's why fans have been asking for him to be given a long run in Tests as IMO he's a much better bat in Tests where he will not be forced to play a daft shot and gift his wkt away due to RR or scoreboard pressure.
zaheer Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 I think his inside-out 4 off Ajmal's delivery was more classy. Agree and that 6 was awesome as well :two_thumbs_up:
Manny_Pacquiao Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 That six off cheenga, What a ***** slap that was.
vvvslaxman Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 Great shots. But needs to improve rotating the strike. .. any chance when Kohli collided with Rohit, something got transferred into Rohit body? kidding :cantstop:
Sid Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 I think his inside-out 4 off Ajmal's delivery was more classy. It was first time Ajmal looked clueless, rather than batsman.Man Ajmal was amazed at that shot.
Cricket Tragic Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 I said when he came into bat that this was his chance to score a fifty and contribute to a win. He did just that. Very good knock.
Number Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 It was first time Ajmal looked clueless' date='rather than batsman.Man Ajmal was amazed at that shot.[/quote'] True. :cantstop:
NareshK Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 Classy knock under extreme pressure because his place in the side was at stake. He had not been doing well in the recent past and many people were questioning his place. Good that he delivered when it mattered most. It would have been a shame to see such a great talent go waste.
ravishingravi Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 I have said it before, this kid is the best batting talent in ages. He just has to play the 50 overs. I think Kohli's test stint has also given him great confidence. Same needs to happen for Rohit.
Crookbond Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 It was first time Ajmal looked clueless' date='rather than batsman.Man Ajmal was amazed at that shot.[/quote'] Ramiz - Saeed Ajmal was impressed by the lovely loft over the cover drive by Rohit Sharma. #indvspak
