One phone call from say New Delhi and the foot soldiers work like a well oiled machine and get their point across on several important issues in a day. Dont they have real jobs? I think for these organizations Modi is a part time project and Dawaa, Islamophobia, GroundZero Mosque, CAIR etc are their full time occupations. They are actually going all postal and demanding meetings with Time editors and Brookings Scholars. Now, TIME and Brookings are pretty big and influential organizations of the world. One must totally believe in the superiority of their ideology to be able to order around these institutions. Hope Indians wake up and start being assertive for a change. FFS, we are billion and we have every right to be heard just like these other organizations. Saad said the group is seeking a meeting with the editorial board of the Time magazine to "sensitise" them with the sentiments of the Muslim community in the US and India which has been deeply hurt by the "glorification" of its recent article on Modi, the cover story of its latest issue of the Asia edition. Earlier in a mass "action alert" email, Shaik Ubaid, the New York State Co-Chair of Muslim Peace Coalition USA and a founding member of the Coalition Against Genocide:hysterical::hysterical:{does he work for all genocides} that was instrumental in getting Modi's US visa revoked, denounced the Time magazine's glorification of Modi as "bad journalism and an obscenely insensitive act", as it was perpetrated during the 10th anniversary commemoration of Gujarat pogrom. The "action alert" also called for a similar campaign against the Washington-based think-tank Brookings Institute, which a day before too wrote an unusual long piece on Modi with the headline "India's Most Admired and Most Feared Politician: Narendra Modi". It is too fvckin bad that british found petrol in middle east. I mean Islam was on its last leg when the khilafat movement started. So we either wait for the oil to run out or figure out an alternative to make Islam irrelevant. If it means banning political involvement of all religious organizations so be it. For an Hindu, being an atheist is better than tolerating these mouth breathers for another 100 years IMO.

That is an assumption/assertion the OP is making without providing any relevant links. Misleading title. As far as glorification by the TIME magazine is concerned, these protesters should know better. TIME magazine has a history of making colossal gaffes in judging people. In one of their editions in the 1930s (or maybe 40s) Hitler was judged to be the Person of the year/decade. :D

And Time is delusional - there is no way Modi is going to become the PM of India, ever. BJP by itself can't cross 200 seats on it's best electoral day and no other party will support the murderer.

The Outsider Posted March 19, 2012 Posted March 19, 2012 We can keep going back and forth about his development model of Gujarat and the genocide he perpetrated without coming to an agreement. Easier would be to talk about the practical aspects of BJP coming to power and Modi becoming the PM - the only scenario in which he can become the PM is when he actively campaigns and wins some big states while the BJP manages 200+ seats. At the moment even 150 looks a long haul for them and add to the fact that in states like Bihar their coalition partners don't want to see his face and in states where he has campaigned, the BJP have got their a$ses handed to them on a platter. Even if BJP do make a government in 2014, it's certainly not going to be with Modi - his next and only realistic shot is 2019 when he will be 70 years old and still not a favorite among other parties. After that he will be just another frustrated old politician - he is no Vajpayee.

ganeshran Posted March 19, 2012 Posted March 19, 2012 Modi can become the PM only in a communally charged environment where the electorate is polarized enough to vote on religious lines. In peaceful times, he simply cannot make BJP win the elections on its own with a lot of regional allies deserting them because of Modi's presence. The only ones who will offer support to BJP with Modi are Shiv Sena and ADMK and possibly SAD due to its rift with the Congress. The left, TMC and JDS wont touch the party, neither will any party in UP. Kerala and Andhra are out of the question, as BJP only has a token presence there. They would have to clean sweep Gujarat, MP, Rajasthan, Karnataka, with allies doing very well in Maharashtra and Tamilnadu and Punjab. Even with all this which is quite improbable, the numbers wont be enough. Which leaves UP with 80 seats, and there is no way BJP is winning UP with Modi at the helm unless the elections are held in the backdrop of riots
Clarke Posted March 19, 2012 Posted March 19, 2012 I recall a huge billboard on one of the interstates in the midwest last summer. It had a large image of Bhindranwale and some text on the lines of Indian Govt committing genocide in 1984 etc. What i seemed to gather was, most of the country and its citizens might have moved on, but there were some emotions thousands of miles away to this day. I am still hopeful of the Supreme court giving out some punishment (worst case scenario, atleast condemn the idea of delaying security forces) for criminal negligence in case there is no evidence of direct involvement in the killings.

Because Indians subconsciously have come to believe that Sikhs like Hindus are half the humans as believers. This can be considered as a great victory for the mighty Islamic propaganda machinery and their congress collaborators. Rajiv Gandhi, the architect of 1984 riots was never prosecuted and his legacy is perfectly fine with his name adorning several public properties.

The only option for Kongress & Western media/powers to save Kongress fro humiliation in 2014 elections is to convince BJP to project Modified as the PM candidate.. That'll half a battle won... Pretty shrewd move by TIME... Lol @ Raul being projected as PM candidate... It would rather be a divorcee Priyanka 'Gandhi' (she might ditch Raabert Vadra) if Kangress wishes her as the PM candidate...
