Number Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 He is very quick and doesn't turn much to play that lofted drive.
vvvslaxman Posted March 18, 2012 Author Posted March 18, 2012 Does anyone in the world read the Ajmal Doosra? Currently' date=' I can't come up with a name.[/quote'] Mike hussey i have noticed him play well.. also Raina did well . Probably lefties.
Manny_Pacquiao Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 he changes trajectory so well. releases it from the back of the hand, can push it forward when he needs to, flights it well when he needs to. guy could take wickets anywhere. all their other bowlers suck dick tho, so india can just play him out and score off the rest
Crookbond Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 Mike hussey i have noticed him play well.. also Raina did well . Probably lefties. Play well versus picking - difference. I agree with you that left handers would find it a bit more easy.
Stuge Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 his action is chucking not bowling. ICC has cleared his action and thats not the point of this thread .So stop trolling . mcenley :I have seen Mike Hussey played him with ease or maybe because he is lefty like VVVS said .

Exactly, no point in playing the 'action' card. Let ICC decide. I don't think it's easy to pick the doosra though as it comes out from the back of the hand. I think the leftie thing helps but I doubt Hussey "picks" it. It's also difficult for Ajmal to bowl doosras to LHB's.

Either way.. they have to find a way.An inform Viru can pick him . Two reasons.. he is capable of playing the ball through off side from the stumps.. doosra or conventional ball. another reason is he can slog against the turn and clear the boundary.
Cricket Tragic Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 Mike hussey i have noticed him play well.. also Raina did well . Probably lefties. Ajmal is mediocre against left handers. Sangakkara did well against him in the tests recently.

For the record, Sehwag could never pick Murali's doosra. Though I've managed to make some runs against him, I could never pick his doosra. It might sound strange but I can pick that delivery off any other spinner, but with Murali I was stumped. In the 2008 Galle Test, I decided to treat every ball as if it was a doosra and play it towards cover. I didn't hit the ball hard, just used timing to direct it towards cover. Along with that, I waited for loose balls to play shots on the back foot. http://www.espncricinfo.com/magazine/content/story/467947.html
pacman Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 a lot of top quality batsmen struggle to pick Ajmal he has the most deceptive doosra, which happens to turn more than his regular offie
vvvslaxman Posted March 18, 2012 Author Posted March 18, 2012 For the record, Sehwag could never pick Murali's doosra. http://www.espncricinfo.com/magazine/content/story/467947.html But in that 293 innings, boy he picked or what.. he made kabob out of Murali. That is what i am saying he can play every ball through the off side regardless of which ball it is. That is a special ability i have seen only in Azharuddin before.

Also, if Gambhir does not get out early, he should be able to take care of him in the finals. One thing is for sure, now that srt is a relieved man - he will be spending nights watching Ajmal's videos.

Crookbond Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 :hatsoff:. Only Viru can come up with such brilliance. And, if you think of it ... makes quite some sense!
Raghav_12 Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 Mike hussey i have noticed him play well.. also Raina did well . Probably lefties. Oh Mike Hussey had killed him in that T20, forget about just playing well. It is perplexing to see Sachin struggling so much against this chucker. Going forward without reading his delivery is dangerous ploy. I hope he comes up with some strategy in case we meet Pakistan in final.
vvvslaxman Posted March 18, 2012 Author Posted March 18, 2012 And' date=' if you think of it ... makes quite some sense![/quote'] It requires special talent and courage to execute in a match situation. He did that to Mendis as well where our veteran cricketers were all at sea. Ajmal has not bamboozled like Mendis has done even if it was for just one series. Still there is something about Ajmal that still batsmen have to unravel.
Stuge Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 Mike Hussey in T20 match against Ajmal . [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nsei30eArec]Mike Hussey 6 6 4 6 Vs Ajmal - YouTube[/ame]
Clarke Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 Well its not the same SRT we knew before, no one can say he's in the same out-of-the-world form as earlier. I guess that has some side effects.
