vvvslaxman Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 He has faced lot of good spinners over his career. Saqlain, Warne, Murali.. to name a few. Why is that he struggling to pick Ajmal. Why is he lunging forward to him regardless of length. He looks ungainly against him. What happened to his down the wicket lofted drives.
Khaleja Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 no offense do you really think ajmal is bowling its more like chucking.
CSK Fan Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 His reflexes has slowed down, not much feet movement. He used to be awesome against spinners He used to be one of the few players who could pick Saqlain's doosra (Murali's was wasier to pick) and Saqlain's doosra was much harder to pick than Ajmal's. Old age I guess
Trichromatic Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 He needs to attack against Ajmal. I believe once he hits few boundaries against him, he won't look edgy against him later.
Schickelgruber Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 Ajmal, is a quality spinner, just like Kohli is a quality batsmen. Sometimes it's just skill. But overall India played him very well, but as I said, he is quality so bound to get the wicket of a quality batsmen.
Sehwag1830 Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 based on 2 games.? Moreover his reflexes have slowed down now.
vvvslaxman Posted March 18, 2012 Author Posted March 18, 2012 no offense do you really think ajmal is bowling its more like chucking. yea he does ..But Sachin is more than capable of tackling such bowlers given his success against lot of spinners over the years chucking or not. There is an air of tentativeness against him.
Yoda-esque Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 I am betting hes going to stop front foot play against him in the next game and play him as late as he can and square of the wicket
Crookbond Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 Importantly, Sachin still can't pick Ajmal's doosra.
Manny_Pacquiao Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 because he is a ******** ******** ********, thats why. disgraceful selfish player ....that is until he goes off on another run spree. then he wil be the greatest playa eva
Stuge Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 He was too defensive against Ajmal and was unable to read his doosra .Infact most Indian batsmen found it pretty hard to play against him .We seriously need to sort him out . Not playing against Pakistan is another reason why they find it little hard against Ajmal.
ganeshran Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 He is not able to read the doosra from the hand. Once he does that, then playing Ajmal is pretty easy.
saneindian Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 Have to give it to AJmal for lording over Sachin even when he looked in sublime touch today. Would be awesome to see the two have a go at each other in a test match.
riya Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 That was the only sad part in the match.Ajmal got sachin, can't stand his smirk....annoying..and oh yes his action..horrible.
vvvslaxman Posted March 18, 2012 Author Posted March 18, 2012 I am betting hes going to stop front foot play against him in the next game and play him as late as he can and square of the wicket I was hoping him to do that in this match itself. It is better to stay on the backfoot and play off the pitch especially here in BD. Pitches are slow. You get time. Kohli's all boundaries against him were play off the backfoot. out of 29 balls he faced from Ajmal Kohli made 36. Rest scored 13 runs in 31 balls.
Manny_Pacquiao Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 you cant play ajmal off the front foot. kohli edged a few as well and rohit didnt look comfy either. they had to camp on he back foot and play him off the bounce. there is just something about the guys action,
Stuge Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 there is just something about the guys action, WE can't do anything about it and Secondly ,its cleared by ICC .So its better to find way to play against him .

akshayxyz Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 His reflexes has slowed down, not much feet movement. Old age I guess based on 2 games.? Moreover his reflexes have slowed down now. Lol. he is still playing uppercut, was able to change the shot at last moment ( when ball didn't pitch as per pre-meditated paddle sweep). If it was just about significantly slow reflexes, it would affect shot-making against all bowlers, esp faster ones. It is not first time when we are seeing him/someone misreading one particular bowler. It just boils down to, him figuring out some visual clue from bowling action/wrist position etc. - to figure out whether to anticipate doosra or otherwise.
