Vijy Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 vinay' date='pk,pathan really ?[/quote'] Any of our pace bowlers/trundlers bar Zak and Yadav, really?
Old guy Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 Any of our pace bowlers/trundlers bar Zak and Yadav' date=' really?[/quote'] thats why we are 0-8 down :) anyway i think there is some talent..would like to not count off dinda just get bowling on these pattas.. he can be a decent odi bowler better then pk ,pathan atleast and we have lost so many talented bowlers they either turned into tundlers wor jsut lost there way after good start best thing team management can do is make sure it does not happen again over time we will have some prospects.. if we commit same mistake again then no one can help us :haha:
kabira Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 I don't like this rule of head to head. that doesn't mean best team goes through. we were going to benefit in CB series, Bangla bros benefited here... WE supposedly beat two heavy weights in Asia..but still cna't make it to final
Ponka Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 Really disappointed if people are happy for not winning the cup. Its the cup/trophy in the end that matters. Very poor year indeed :(

Vijy Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 Head-head rule is fair. We lost to Banglas' date=' both of us had 2 wins, so we are out. What's unfair?[/quote'] Yep, we lost to Bangladesh. And that's fair enough.
rkt.india Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 Not able to get this happiness and satisfaction of Ind fans... I mean not qualifying for final, BD defeating them, yeah won vs Pak but still Pak batting lineup scoring 300+, dont remember when last time in few years Pak scored 300+ODI runs except vs Kenya, BD etc... I rather see more of worrying things for indian cricket instead of this happiness But fair enough if beating Pak is everything what you guys want in cricket :) One thing for sure it was our crap bowling which made your batting look like what it was. Otherwise, Steven Finn alone exposed your batting and same Finn was thrashed by our batsmen in ODIs in England as well in India, Finn was impressive even against us but was not able to take many wickets. This was our weakest fast bowling trio in a long time. Even Vinay kumar was not there who has been doing better than PK and Irfan.

They would have been the three first choices.
rkt.india Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 Ishant should be kept away from limited overs cricket and play FC cricket to learn how to take wickets. Ishant has better ODI record than many likes of PK and if PK can play why not Ishant? HE can learn taking wicket even in ODIs.
rkt.india Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 Yes, but the problem is that Ishant isn't one. It's not like he has played only a handful of games either. Right now, even his test spot is in doubt. 2 spinners will be played in India. Is he among the top 2 seamers for us? No. That would be Zak and Umesh. Ishant's strike rate in ODIs is 33 which is very good fro any bowler, compare this to PK who is certainty in every game has SR of 42 and his economy too is over 5. Ishant has better average than PK as well.

Ishant's ER is 5.72, and PK has an ER of 5.12 I think both of these must be higher than Sir Aggy's :haha:

Ishant's ER is 5.72' date=' and PK has an ER of 5.12 I think both of these must be higher than Sir Aggy's :haha:[/quote'] But Ishant takes wickets and If your bowler takes wicket, there will be more chance for opposition team to bundle out quickly and there is not much difference between 5.13 and 5.72. You are talking as if PK as economy of 4.13. But there is a difference of SR Ishant has 33, PK has 42 overall. Ishant averages 32, PK 36 and in India Ishant averages 36, PK 62. This is a battle of who is better among the worst and Ishant certainly is not as crap as PK has been. PK is a good ODI bowler is just a delusional perception. He bowls consistently is another delusion. Consistent bowlers do not have economy of over 5. Munaf is one consistent bowler, under 5 economy, but he has another issues if he can sort them out, he can be better than any for us in ODIs.
Needforspeed Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 Yadav should have been in the squad. He is a wicket taking bowler. I am glad about the result for a different reason. Had we won the Asia Cup, it would have helped the Board and the selectors to gloss over our recent awful perfomances. This result, especially the loss to Bangladesh leaves them and Dhoni with no excuses. Secondly I am happy that the entire team can move ahead now that the pain in the A** 'Sachin's 100th 100' is out of the way. The win against Pakistan was another positive. About SL, anyway we were expected to win. The match agains BD really exposed how pathetic our bowlers were even in SC conditions. I hope the Board wakes up and does something - kick the Motu coach out and 'full toss' trundlers like PK, IP for good. These guys are now bowling full tosses in the 115-120 Ks range as their stock ball !!! Will it take a defeat against the POMs in the SC for the board to really wake up ??
Sachinism Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 Guys please don't bring discussions from other forums onto here

If Pak beat us and had not qualified for the finals, you guys would have stop blaming match fixing or prolly stopped fixing and make a big hue about you winning against us rather than qualifying the finals.
SLICKR392 Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 @Ultimate_Game & deathmonger: at least we dont collapse that often now When was the last time we got out below 200 or 100 in our conditions? And how many times did Pak collapse below 200 and 100 in UAE?
