Pak_Fan_4_Eva Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 Hafeez is a smooth operator. Cool as a cucumber and a real tough customer. A solid bowler. He may not a chief destroyer but is a handy operator.
Ponka Posted March 23, 2012 Author Posted March 23, 2012 Stop copying my thread ponka. Hafeez is the most underrated bowler around. Bloke bowls in PP or comes on when opposition have thrashed the hell out of new ball bowlers i.e Mohali. He is consistently going under 4 an over. He gives us control and important breakthroughs and above all Gambhir is his bunny. 2/2. :hmmm: Ponka did search the forum but didnt find relevant thread...if you created the thread earlier, post the link here and mods will merge. :hatsoff:
akshayxyz Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 Suprised not a thread on him yet. He's in top 10 ICC ODI bowler rankings with Ajmal. He doesnt have a doosra like Ajmal so what does he do different than other bowlers/spinners which makes him so dangerous??? He has a slight delay in action which adds to his advantage as he gets an idea what is batsman trying to do but other than that why is he so successfull? This cant be the only reason cuz everyone else in the world would start to do that. Have to accept, he would get into most team as a full time ODI spinner and better than Ashwin and Ojha who would go for runs in ODIs. That is called chucking.
Stuge Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 Balls stump-to-stump' date=' sticks to the basics. No non-sense bowler. Wouldn't go by the ratings though.[/quote'] You've pretty much summed it up and I don't think anything else is required to describe him why he is so effective as a part-time bowler .
deathmonger Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 :hmmm: Ponka did search the forum but didnt find relevant thread...if you created the thread earlier' date=' post the link here and mods will merge. :hatsoff:[/quote'] talking of pp thread. he's saeed-sohail.
gaurav92 Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 He does something which none of the Indian bowlers do i.e "Bowling straight consistently".
daryl1985 Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 he is some one like yuvraj.. whose bowling is useful.. but he is no all rounder. He is significantly better than Yuvraj in my opinion. In terms of bowling ability he is at more of a similar level to Ashwin. He is an excellent restrictive option with superb accuracy and the 'straight one' he bowls is a very dangerous ball to left handers.
Kean0 Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 Hafeez has not natural talent. His abilty is pure hard work combined with vwery thought out plans to bowl. Makes his rise as a bowler even more surpirsing. Brillaint bowler and a decent batsman to have on you side.
Swing_n_Speed Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 Has Hafeez ever been trashed? Like has he ever been whacked for four after four? Cos evrytime I'd see a pitchmap of his bowling, I'd find dots and singles, never 4's or 6's.
vvvslaxman Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 Hafeez is a smooth operator. Cool as a cucumber and a real tough customer. A solid bowler. He may not a chief destroyer but is a handy operator. Are you Ramiz raja :cantstop:

adi B Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 oh he is a very intelligent bowler, he bowls 50 out of 60 bowls in good area with high accuracy.. except indian batsmen, i think almost every team has struggled to score off him... tbh he is better than even our main spinner :nervous:
adi B Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 hafeez nd afridi didnt give a single boundary in the 120 balls they bowled.. this is called accuracy nd consistency which none of our bowlers have, they give 2-3 freebies every over
Ultimate_Game Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 Maybe it's coz other Paki bowlers like Gul, Cheema, Afridi etc. are so cr@p batsmen don't need to try anything against Hafeez :dontknow: If Hafeez were bowling with likes of Wasim, Waqar etc. I doubt he would have gotten away so easily.
Pak_Fan_4_Eva Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 Are you Ramiz raja :cantstop: How did you find out?:nervous:
Pak_Forever Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 he is some one like yuvraj.. whose bowling is useful.. but he is no all rounder. No he's not. Yuvraj is just a timepass spinner, who gets tonked for boundaries...Hafeez is lightyears better. Very accurate and economical bowler. It's not just bc of Ajmal and Afridi that our spin attack is so strong.
Old guy Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 No he's not. Yuvraj is just a timepass spinner, who gets tonked for boundaries...Hafeez is lightyears better. Very accurate and economical bowler. It's not just bc of Ajmal and Afridi that our spin attack is so strong. yuvraj improved a lot but i agree hafeez is better but still not a genuine all rounder hope u get wht im saying :P

Needforspeed Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 Hafeez is a good cricketer. As a bowler, he is useful..gives the captain the extra option.
