is that enough to just keep full tosses away? he can bowl the odd yorker but he is nowhere near consistent enough with it .
He does not bowl full tosses. He bowls short balls which are taken for runs mostly. Same was happening in CB series. He can bowl yorkers. If he can take wickets with the new ball, it will more effective than bowling in death overs. He needs to persist on line around off and hit good length to short of good length. He has not been that easy to hit whenever he hit these areas, but whenever he bowled short, he went for runs, most often than not, and then short balls do not bring you much chances to take wickets, while attacking off stump line will certainly bring him more wickets. He has also been too straight many a times trying to clean bowl the batsmen which is not possible on every ball. He needs to show that patience. Death over bowling is not just about yorkers, it is mixing up the pace and line and lengths along with yorker. Even yorkers can go wrong. It is not easy to stop runs in death overs when you do not take wickets on flat tracks so it is better to utilize first 20 overs to take wickets.

really?:giggle:
News channels always try to make a story of nothing. He was just walking in his farms during vacations and they are saying he is farming. It is his father who is taking care of farms not him.

LOL@OP. If you have to be a member of CSK or from TenVic, how did Umesh even get into the team in the first place? :winky:

though nowadays with two new balls it is hard to get reverse swing and so new ball skills are more important but still if pacers struggle to bowl well at the death then they seem to be under too much pressure to take wickets with the new ball , so they then tend to over attack and end up leaking runs . plus how many attacking fielders are there to support the pacers when he is bowling with the new ball? what makes the yorker more important in the modern game is if you watch old odi replays u will see bowlers getting through batsmens defence with full length balls which are not quite yorkers because of revese swing , but these days these non yorker full length balls dont work any more because of lack of reverse swing.
Yes. Reverse swing is virtually out of the game now. Reverse swing has really helped good fast bowlers come back later in the game. Umar Gul turned the game by his 6-fer when England was heading towards a sure shot win is the most recent memory where reverse swing played a huge role.

Umesh ne khud kaha "kisan ka beta hoon, to pehle kisan hi hoon cricketer baad mein" or something on those lines! Reminds me of an earlier era. Reading about Eddo Brandes who was a chicken farmer or some other SA or Zim cricketers calling themselves as farmers.

Yes. I saw that program live but do you believe he is going to work in the farms. He mostly stays away from home. He just bought 2 acres of land. My family has 40 beeghas in my village and I have not seen my farms in a long time and we are kisaan too. :winky: Umesh is not a kisaan ka beta. Umesh's father was used to work in mines and Umesh had aimed to become a policeman before taking up the cricket.

:hysterical: If Yadav had been selected and had injured himself mid-way during a game, say against Pakistan. Pretty sure the ones who've made this up would've been the first one to make an issue about selectors sending unfit players. Some fans and their conspiracy theories have no end.

He isn't a bowler who bowls 120kph consistently..he is a fast bowler and deserves a rest after such a long depressing tour of Aussie and he is al played the whole England tour of India, the Windies and the Aussie tour.
