Malcolm Merlyn Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 Indian speedster Umesh Yadav who was rested for the Asia cup 2012,where the Indian bowling was smashed to all parts of the ground was playing in the Deodhar trophy during that time. On March 16 and 18 when the Indian bowling was being smashed to every corner of the ground and Indian trundlers were caught by the scruff of their neck and beaten black and blue, the fastest Indian bowler was bowling in a dour no consequence Deodhar trophy match. This selection committe is known for its bias.In a throw back to the 90s when players where chosen on the basis of their regional representation, these days the cricteria for selection seems to be being part of a certain IPL team or being managed by a certain company. The only ray of hope for the Indian fans is that K.Srikkanth will have to leave his post next year as chief selector.Though Srinivasan will be there for another two years an SC judgement againist him could cut short his tenure. Lets all hope and pray for Indian Cricket.
saneindian Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 He had a shin injury during the CB series and was rested for the Asia Cup. In any case, why would you grind to dust a pacer after a 3 month long tour of Australia where he played 4 tests and 5-6 ODIs?
msb1991 Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 He had a shin injury during the CB series and was rested for the Asia Cup. In any case' date=' why would you grind to dust a pacer after a 3 month long tour of Australia where he played 4 tests and 5-6 ODIs?[/quote'] Agreed. He was injured, came back in domestic cricket. Simple as that. People need to stop jumping to ridiculous conclusions.
adi B Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 even though i agree dhoni loves trundlers, but asia cup aint that important, so yadav was rested for ipl
Malcolm Merlyn Posted March 23, 2012 Author Posted March 23, 2012 ^^^he was rested for shin injury and is fit to play the day India also plays its first match in Asia cup?coincidence?
saneindian Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 Fit to play 'domestic cricket' where he has an option of not bowling if he feels a recurrence of the injury.
Old guy Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 diff standards..domestic matches are easier moreover he can bowl at his 70-80 percent and get into full form u cant do it in international matches.. makes sense to me ..
Magneto Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 diff standards..domestic matches are easier moreover he can bowl at his 70-80 percent and get into full form u cant do it in international matches.. makes sense to me .. Got clobbered for 25 runs in an over :hehe: Not so easy.
Old guy Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 Got clobbered for 25 runs in an over :hehe: Not so easy. my point.. can take it easy here... we all know he is good enough to be part of our current bowling line up :winky: so nothing to prove thats why i belive u dont play bowlers into matches after injury straightaway getting into rhythm is hard after injury
rkt.india Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 Got clobbered for 25 runs in an over :hehe: Not so easy. Also bowled 10 overs for 35 the match before.
deathmonger Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 Also bowled 10 overs for 35 the match before. don't slag fast bowlers. rkt will get you. sarkar to pakistanis = rkt to fast bowler haters btw rkt, who are some good pacers who have done well in recent domestics? shami ahmed i believe has become part of bengal starting xi.
deathmonger Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 with out a good yorker it is difficult to be a good odi pacer in odis' date='till umesh can develop that wont be that useful in odis ,[/quote'] let's see ipl. what happens there.
Old guy Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 let's see ipl. what happens there. with his pace its jsut matter of experience all yorkers would be good :--D
CoverDrive Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 no one is ever dropped from indian team- they are always 'rested' He had a horrible vb series so it was ok to drop him - but i guess replacements were no better.
rkt.india Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 with out a good yorker it is difficult to be a good odi pacer in odis' date='till umesh can develop that wont be that useful in odis ,[/quote'] Keep waist high short balls away and he will be good..he can bowl yorkers...
rkt.india Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 Any new of Varun Aaron's fitness? haven't found any news in more than a month. Back stress fractures always take time to heal, can take up to 6 months in worse cases.
Mariyam Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 In the context of cricket, rested is an euphemism for dropped. Having said that, I don't see how he could have done worse that the deadly combo of Dinda+PK+Irfan Pathan
rkt.india Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 In the context of cricket, rested is an euphemism for dropped. Having said that, I don't see how he could have done worse that the deadly combo of Dinda+PK+Irfan Pathan He was rested because he had a minor injury and it was good for him as too much cricket will only harm him.
bajrang Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 Also bowled 10 overs for 35 the match before. he was bowling good even in that match where he got clobbered, till maybe 7th over. his economy was under 4 (3.8 something). and then two experienced guys of domestic got hold of him
