akshayxyz Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 It is not like they shunned him permanently. Without even going into stats you could tell his bowling became very impotent. He relied heavily on batsman's mistake. how do you come with these gems... can you back this one up with some numbers?
Crookbond Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 how do you come with these gems... can you back this one up with some numbers? Just curious - What type of numbers one can come up with in this scenario? I mean no cricket DB allows you to search on 'type of dismissal - batsman's fault or bowler's fault'.

Akshay, You're being a little bit too harsh on VSS. As far as I can infer he opines - "Harbhajan didn't bowl enough attacking/wicket-taking deliveries but waited for the batsman to make a mistake". I kind of agree with him here. Harbhajan looked more towards containment of runs rather than flighting the ball and hence used to send down darts (wasn't he called darty, dart-bhajan here?). IMHO, he shouldn't play T20, ODI cricket. The moment he does that he switches off his "flight" mode to return to "dart" mode.

Dravid_TheWall Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 how do you come with these gems... can you back this one up with some numbers? It's called "watching the game," something you do so little of clearly. :giggle: VVS is spot on, but hope to see Bhajji improve. Still our best t20 and odi spinner or thereabouts , test is open.

adi B Posted March 25, 2012 Posted March 25, 2012 no place of darty in the side, he is still useless, unless he regularly bowls the doosra or flights the bowl, he will be useless, not a wicket taker at all in the one day scnario... though i hope he shamelessly chuck the ball like ajmal
Pagalpanti Posted March 25, 2012 Posted March 25, 2012 Can't blame him for thinking that. :giggle: QXKMFhQOYQk

vvvslaxman Posted March 25, 2012 Posted March 25, 2012 how do you come with these gems... can you back this one up with some numbers? Don't want to waste time for Bhajji of all the people. How many batsmen have recently beaten batsmen with guile, variation like Ajmalis is doing. He just darts the ball.

vvvslaxman Posted March 25, 2012 Posted March 25, 2012 Still better than Ashwin Ashwin flights the ball.. even though of late he bowls a lot of short stuff. In bhajji's case they are all darts which make him impotent. I guess Ashwin has to bowl outside power play overs for a while. Rightnow he is mainly used as a powerplay bowler. He needs another crack on Indian surfaces failing which we can consider guys like Rahul sharma before going to Bhajji.

Generally, when a new bowler comes on the scene, he is more difficult to play. Ashwin hardly looks threatening. But yes, to your point,we need to give him an extended run and also try out others before getting back Harby.

I love it when you post your views on that:cantstop:
CSK Fan Posted March 25, 2012 Posted March 25, 2012 Very convinient of him to blame the media. When he was doing good, he was giving ten interviews a day to the extent that all the media hype was around him and the contribution of other bowlers like Ojha and Mishra, who bowled in the same matches, were over-shadowed. Now when he is in bad form, media are blaming him more. Bhajji cannot have it both ways. Live by the sword, etc etc
