Delhi Daredevils pacer Umesh Yadav said Rahul Dravid, who retired early this month from international cricket, passed down some valuable tips during the Australia tour and corrected him whenever he went wrong. "Dravid is a great player. He has shared a lot of his valuable experience with me. I will surely miss him in the Indian dressing room. While bowling to him in the nets, Dravid would talk to me a lot and always corrected me whenever I went wrong," Umesh said. Yadav feels that variation and change of pace will be crucial in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Umesh, who was rested for the Asia Cup after a hectic tour of Australia, said he was working on a new delivery and would unleash it soon during the IPL. "Twenty20 is a format that requires a lot of variation. When a batsman is going after you, change of pace is very important. I am working on a new delivery but I am still not confident of bowling it in a match," Umesh said after a gruelling practice session at the Ferozeshah Kotla here Tuesday. "This format requires a lot of stamina and endurance. We have to work really hard because the match finishes in three hours and you have to give it your all." The Nagpur boy stressed that he was fully fit and raring to go for this season's IPL. "I am fully fit and very excited for IPL-5. I hope to play the whole tournament, my only focus is on IPL and nothing else. :cantstop: I have recovered well but I am a fast bowler and I can get injured anytime. Anything is possible in cricket," he said. Umesh said the rest after the Australia tour has helped him. "I got 10 days off after the Australia tour that helped me a lot. I worked on my niggles. Shoulder and back is very important for a pacer so I have been working on that," he said. Umesh, who plays for Vidarbha in the Ranji Trophy, hoped that with new purchases the Daredevils would finish better this season. Delhi Daredevils had finish last in the previous edition. "Last year our performance was bad, I am sure this year we will perform well. We have got in some very good players." Umesh said Daredevils head coach Eric Simons, who was also India's bowling coach before being replaced during the tri-series in Australia. "Simons has done a lot for me. He is very important for my career. He is frank and free-minded, gives me a lot of inputs to improve my bowling," he said.(IANS) http://www.cricketcountry.com/cricket-articles/Rahul-Dravid-s-tips-helped-a-lot-Umesh-Yadav/12818

i dont think these indian bowlers give a sh1t about valuable tips given by experience players.... i think these idiots should be scolded to the highest level to make them understand the basics of bowling....i dont think any of our bowlers have brains to know how to bowl nd acc to conditions

We want progress. That is where most fast bowlers fail. They show glimpse of hope.. then they go down the drain. There is no real consistent progress.
This. :this:

theres ur problem ... batsmen giving tips to bowlers and zaheer is probably giving tips to rohit ,raina :headshake:
Don't forget Bhajji credited Tindu for helping him invent a fearsome "slider" type of delivery. They all big each other up in public for attention. Some are genuine like in this case I feel Yadav is. Santh didn't buy into all this, was a free spirit, the guy sledged Tindu in challenger trophy, rapped him on the arm guard :two_thumbs_up:

:hysterical: Is there any discussion on this forum where Sreesanth doesn't turn up thru DTW. If only Sreesanth had shown such consistency on the field.

Tindu is normally protected from sledging by a God like armour given to him by others, then ek yudda in one go he penetrated this armour and treated him like a rookie :cantstop: At that point I am sure the old man felt human, especially once he was roughed up by Santh :giggle:

Not sure about that but he kept coming really close after every delivery, intimidating him with not only good bowling but with stares :giggle: Viru hit Santh for 4 in the same tournament and Santh said why don't you do this in international cricket :cantstop::cantstop:

Don't see a problem with great bats giving advice to our newcomer bowlers. Guys like Dravid have played and watched all kinds of bowling and can definitely pass on some advice on which deliveries work and which ones don't.

The bigger problem is people trying to find fault with every thing. Hope that our bowlers take the tips/suggestions on board.

At MCG in the first innings , Umesh beat Punter in his 3rd spells 1st ball ,2nd ball was wide outside off , punter left it. Then Dravid went to Umesh from slips and told him something. He got his edge on the next one and Laxman caught it.
