Tendulkar_Bhai
It may seem too early and I still believe we can win this test match but what changes would you make? We need to give ourselves the best chance for final test. For me: Drop Kohli for Tiwary Drop UV for Rohit/Rahane Possibly drop Ashwin and Ishant based on how they bowl in this match. Maybe try Pankaj and Jaddu as specialist spinner. He did trouble England before albeit in ODI's and has been bowling well on benign tracks. N.B-I believe Kohli will make it as a test cricketer but we need to think of the final test, not the future. Choose the best team and all that.. Fed up with Kohli he has had plenty of chances now is the time to drop him and let him iron out his technique issues in FC. ALmost every dismissal is due to poor temperament and shots rather than being unlucky. Kohli for Rahane and Rohit for UV. UV should never be picked again for tests, how can Indian selectors have such short memories!? This wont happen but i would bring in Ahmed and Pankaj for Ishant and Zak. Link to comment

CSK Fan
Yes-but the fact remains that he is also an Elephant What is wrong with being an elephant? Some of my best friends are elphants. Tendulkar_Bhai
Drop SRT first, hes been failing for longer Will also send out a strong message that nobodys place can be taken for granted Look at Kohli v Tendulkar test averages over last 18 months you will see how little impact Kohli has had bar 1 century down under. Tendulkar has done everything no other human being has ever done, Kohli hasnt even got going Link to comment

Please don't be like Diggy Raja Dont really see your argument. SRT was today our best batsman (while Kohli/UV failed yet AGAIN) and looked in fine touch against some of the best pace bowling this series. Plus this is not Kohli v SRT, its about Kohli's continuous failures in test matches, home and away, and how he hasnt shown any real potential or aptitude for test matches Link to comment

Agree on the batsmen part as per this thread. Not sure about Shammi, haven't seen him much but all for handing new test caps. It was obvious UV would not make it :giggle: I know he can score some runs when track is flat, but hint of ball moving or spinning and he is gone. Good he failing now otherwise we would keep him until we play away where he will be brutally exposed. Link to comment
Eternal Atma
Drop SRT first, hes been failing for longer Will also send out a strong message that nobodys place can be taken for granted SRT has 20 year success to fall back on. Such players can figure out their issues in the middle for India. Don't need time away. Kohli is not established, needs to go back and think how to approach if he is to be dropped. You can't drop Sachin and say what? Conquer domestic? LOL. Link to comment

panther
If it wasn't for Tendulkar we would be in major trouble now! SRT can easily play in this team at least until mid 40's and should do. GG ran out of Sehwag, UV was lbw early and definitely not a no6. Kohli-hmm apparently he was ready to take Tendulkar's no4 spot as he was the next Tendulkar :cantstop: Tendulkar batted like old, boundaries were flowing regularly and he kept finding the gaps. With kallis catching up and cook who could play for another 10-11 years easily it is imperative sachin plays till 45 in order to make sure no one breaks his records. Agree with more odis, he needs to break sehwags record and get the 50th ton. Link to comment

The Realist
Actually SA won 2-0 in Eng and I would not term it a boring series. Ind v Eng is pretty average - Ind have half a team of passengers and Eng Pietersen apart are just not an exciting team. But if they win the series they won't be bothered. Link to comment

coffee_rules
The revenge part was hyped by Indian media. Even against NZ and WI, India won unconvincingly. Eng coming from SA series ..are playing cricket at a higher level than India. Link to comment
The Realist
England have got our number guys.. Its all psychological from now on Pretty much. If Eng bat well over the next 2 days, its game over and most likely series over. Just wait till we get you back in our yard they said after 0-8... Link to comment
Eternal Atma
We don't have our specalist swing bowlers in this game or reverse swingers at pace. Zaheer seems very ordinary now. I know he can bowl well but doesn't seem to be able to change games anymore. More of a control run rate/chip in with few wickets kind of bowler. Hope he proves me wrong. Link to comment
