Would it have been too much to expect for our players to say "we should have played much better" or for BCCI to have some serius introspection post 0-8? Now chickens are coming home to roost and you can be in denial only so long. I am sure the players and BCCI also believe Tendulkar is still the best batsman in the world and will start scoring tons and lead us to glory home & away.

After being white-washed 0-4 in Tests and then pointing to a 5-0 odi series win as an example of comeback is Lahori logic at its best, and it's sad that someone like Tendulkar said so. I can understand someone like Srinivasan or Rajiv Shukla uttering those words but didn't expect it from someone like Tendulkar. Yes you have to be politically correct in front of media but you can be politically correct while admitting to your failings as well. I think the rationale behind showing these quotes was the extent to which the team was in denial. It wasn't just one or two guys who made these quotes. Essentially most of our senior players and senior BCCI functionaries said those things. And these quotes were not from a week or a month, the timeline is spread over the year which means the team and BCCI have been in the "ostrich" mode ever since the WC.
