can we call shiv saniks to dig the pitch ?? or else.. i remember when we used to play cricket and we didn't want the other gully boys to play cricket on our pitch .. we had a guy who given the task to do potty on the pitch early morning at the center of the pitch and near the batsman area... If needed BCCI can hire that guy.

My recommended strategy for the Kolkatta game is that you guys get laid and put paid to your cricket following. This team is a bunch of unprofessional, dispassionate mercenaries who give a rodent's posterior about test matches & the country's pride. You better clue yourself in on the reality and get on with your life. When we register an odd win, show up here and celebrate. There will be an IPL next year, when you can celebrate more. And be happy with the no. 5 ranking while it lasts. And support Bangladesh and Zimbabwe's test status, at least that puts this team in the top 50% of the test playing nations.

So what about the time we were No 1...You mean to say the board and the players were not rich then? The fact is we have some players at the twilight of their career and some players who are not good enough at this level...that's about it

i was thinking slightly tangentially on why players are not dropped. Then i saw this thread. Most players have fat contracts with sports management firms. and Dhoni has millions of corporate money tied up in advertisements, promos. These people and BCCI are a club. If Dhoni is sacked as a captain, they loose. If Gambhir is dropped, the Sports management firm representing him stops kickback to Srinivasan & all. So selection committees are a sham and there will be no real change until a sting operation does something or there is a clean start to BCCI - not likely. This is just a conjecture, but I wont be surprised if this is true.. just my $0.02. Anyone else thinks same way?
Definitely some truth to it. When Jaddu kept getting picked up this was the reason cited. Excessive commercialization has adulterated cricket. It does play influential role in various degrees. I won't mind this as long as the selection is according to merit. But it is not the same case here.
The OP mentioned test cricket....As far as Test matches go they are not money spinners like T20 or even ODI's,So there can't be too many commercial reasons behind test performances. Our bad performance has to do with some serious issues with our talent pool and nothing to do with commercialization. If excess money was the only case for our failure then most players would have focused on T20 and we suck even at that.

This team has no idea about their strengths and weaknesses. It's funny that they tried to hide spinners as if they are some kind of secret weapon. I didn't like the idea even then. Strategically very poor decision from BCCI to not give them a chance in practice matches.

Ghanta he plays for himself. I agree the knock in the 2nd Test. But we weren't gonna win anyway. But no way he plays for himself. He wouldn't have hit that shot in WC finals if he played for himself.
