Sidhoni Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 I do not think Dravid will do commentary. They should have Sidhu as a commentator :D
Sachin=GOD Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 I do not think Dravid will do commentary. They should have Sidhu as a commentator :D he has become extremely irritating.
zep1706 Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 No BCCI will be continue to produce matches. Uday Shankar' date= CEO of Star Group said in an interview So no quality improvement :omg:
Sachin=GOD Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 madira bedi p.s. its Mandira Bedi, not Madira Bedi :hysterical:
chainsmoker1985 Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 agree.. buti personally would love to see him commentate Yea true... But, I get a feeling that he can be another 'Gary Kirsten' in coaching field. He has lots of similarities to Gary. I am just guessing.
Sachin=GOD Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 Yea true... But, I get a feeling that he can be another 'Gary Kirsten' in coaching field. He has lots of similarities to Gary. I am just guessing. yeah. He's the type of guy who would like to work behind the scenes without attracting attention to himself and he definitely has an excellent understanding of the game.
Ramzz Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 BCCI will be picking the commentators. Expect the following: Arun Lal Shastri Akram Bhogle Wilkins SRK Danny morrison
CG Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 In terms of quality,My choice would be- Gavaskar Shastri Aakash Chopra Manjrekar Gnaguly The current espn lot are pretty good and overseas will differ from tour to tour Australia- Chappel Allan border Nz- Danny Eng- Atherton please i want to see his sad face in india when we beat them.
Swing_n_Speed Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 Domestic:- Bhogle, Shastri, Ganguly, Dravid/Kumble, SRK(someone entertaining and not necessarily always pedantic in cricketing terms or analysis) International:- Wilkins, Danny, Nasser Hussein, Atherton, Bumble, Bishop, Cozier, Wessels, Haysmen, Ian Chapell Analysts Bhogle, (Manjrekar, Akram, Rameez should all be relegated to emerging nations commentary and analysis) Some eye candy with brains a la Mandira Bedi (or anyone else), Kumble/ Dravid PS I think Dravid suffers from Gynophobia (fear of women) so it's best to keep him far away from them, or else he may not know what to do. Infact I doubt he'd even utter a word if he was in the same room with Mandira. On the same sofa, our man might just faint.
Old guy Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 Yea true... But, I get a feeling that he can be another 'Gary Kirsten' in coaching field. He has lots of similarities to Gary. I am just guessing. yeah. He's the type of guy who would like to work behind the scenes without attracting attention to himself and he definitely has an excellent understanding of the game. i know but for a change i want to listen to guys with some brain commentating ..tired of these braindead boring commentators im sure he will be able to tell much more abt technique of players.. and his experinces in very unbaised way he was alwyas my fav :P i just dont want to miss him too much from cricket i guess :--D i started watching cricket near 2001 (as a serious fan) so ever since i started watching cricket these guys have been there now it will feel weird seeing likes of rahane or kohli coming at no 3 :P
Cricketics Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 My List Alan Wilkins Sunil Gaaskar Ian Chappel Danny Morrison David Gower David Lloyd Ravi Shastri Ian Smith These above people would be nice to have when India is playing.
audioman Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 I do hope they get rid of Wilkins and get Manjrekar on board full-time. The Sky guys can only make it as guests, so forget them. I do hope they stay far far away from Danny Morrison and his garbage. And every now and then, throw Bhogle into the other chair and have him air his views on the game than just the questions, though. But again, I think Harsha is possibly THE best host in the world of cricket, never interrupts guests, always polite, asks meaningful questions instead of something vague. But it would be a nice idea to get someone like Manjrekar, who is also a decent host, and then have him swap roles with Harsha every now and then.

Harsha is one of the most annoying commentators at this time.

Pagalpanti Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 Ravi, Nasser, Saurav - When the game is boring, these guys can surely make it spicier. Sunny, Sidhu, Tony G. Would love to hear these 3 together, Sunny would only add to Sidhu-Tony combo. Harsha, Wilkins, Chappelli, Manjerekar, Akram - And then these guys to fill in the numbers..
audioman Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 What's wrong with Harsha? The man hardly ever voices opinions, he is more of a host. how can a host be hated so much?

In my opinion, anybody who hasnt played the game should not be a commentator.
maniac Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 I don't think Star can afford Maninder. Have you checked out the price of Coke these days? :cantstop:
