When you select likes of Yuvraj, Harbhajan and Chawla without any merit and have players like Dinda, Zaheer and Balaji as the bowling lineup, nothing much needs to be said. We may as well have selected Sreesanth as our "lucky charm" and gotten rid of the selection panel altogether. All those who were excited about the Eng win probably haven't seen English play spinners on sub-continent. I can line up spinners from a school team and they would probably knock over England. Reading into that performance was kidding ourselves and our fears have been well and truly confirmed, i.e. the performance against Afghanistan was the true barometer. Let's hope we can break our duck in knockouts of T20 Cup this time as that's the only thing we can realistically hope for as with our bowling lineup and sifarshi & emotional selections we don't deserve to get into the semis. I am sure Srinivasan and co. will come up with brilliant excuses to sweep another embarrassment under the carpet and claim how successful we have been with IPL.
