Tiger80 Posted September 13, 2012 Posted September 13, 2012 When was the last time we reached knock off in T20 worldcup? We cannot even defect NZ Spain never won football world cup but still they were pre tournament favourate and they end up winning the fifa world cup.Past performence don't decide who is contender and who is not. Also this tournament is played in sub continent where subcontinent teams are considered as favourates

JaFanatic Posted September 13, 2012 Posted September 13, 2012 how is he able to change his action for different formats? is he the only bowler to do so?
The Outsider Posted September 13, 2012 Posted September 13, 2012 how is he able to change his action for different formats? is he the only bowler to do so? No, Vinay Kumar can also do his Malinga impersonation.
Sidhoni Posted September 13, 2012 Posted September 13, 2012 World T20 2012 warmups thread SL v/s WI Ire v/s Zim First day today of warmups. We play SL on 15th and Pak on 17th.
kubrickian Posted September 13, 2012 Posted September 13, 2012 I think its better to be the underdogs because there will be less pressure on the team. I have to say in T20, the team hasnt got the act together. Maybe because its a fickle format but also because we play less T20 internationals compared to other nations. Another reason could be they dont seem to have a good strategy going into T20s. Dhoni should come in at No.3 in T20s because he takes a while to get going and he could find it tough to do the finishing job. Raina should come down the order. Bowling at the death should improve. We give away too many runs at the end and we dont have bowlers who can bowl yorkers consistently. We have played 5 IPLs and we havent been able to unearth a single bowler who could bowl well at the death like Malinga, Bollinger, Southee or Gul. Zaheer is a great bowler but he could be inconsistent at the death. PK, Irfan are not good enough at the end.
CoverDrive Posted September 13, 2012 Posted September 13, 2012 SL look strong Gayle did not play for WI
cameron_black Posted September 13, 2012 Posted September 13, 2012 seems WI big hitters couldn't adapt to the conditions. also, narine will have to do better than that is he's going to be a force this tournament.
Sidhoni Posted September 13, 2012 Posted September 13, 2012 Easy win for SL. WI looking completely out of form.
Sidhoni Posted September 13, 2012 Posted September 13, 2012 Easy win for Ireland as well with the O'brien brothers coming to the party with the bat and Dockrell and Cusack doing exceptionally well with the ball. Ireland is in the same group with Aussies and WI. We might see an upset.
Sidhoni Posted September 13, 2012 Posted September 13, 2012 Ashwin reckons we are underdogs! :cantstop:
G_B_ Posted September 13, 2012 Posted September 13, 2012 we are not underdogs but we are not exactly favourites either. Looking at the way sri lanka dismissed WI (who i personally thought would be a force in this tournament) I think they will start off as favourites. Ashwin would do well to avoid the media and not make any statements, especially after his t20 figures.
