The likes of Rahane and [b']Mukund have done well on nearly every A opportunity they have got in the last 2-3 years and to see comments like they are wasting opportunities is OTT. Yes it was disappointing to see them fail but there are 2 more tests in the series and they will come good. On the match, with 164 to get, despite the pitch playing tricks, we should win this..Dhawan, Pujara, Rohit, Tiwary and Saha..still some batting to come, one decent partnership will seal it for us. Hit a couple of 50s in England. 191 runs in 4 innings@48 in the FC matches..Not earth shattering but not bad either Also hit a 100 in a chase of 350+ IIRC and did well in the finals of the one day leg on the tour.

Mukund especially was outstanding in this domestic season, pretty much scoring all the runs for Tamil Nadu when the other batsmen failed. Even the best batsmen score ducks. Two low scores in a row is proof of nothing. And even if Mukund performs poorly on the rest of this tour, it will not vindicate such knee-jerk reactions - if one cannot see why, then you are beyond saving. Fantastic absurdity came when B Kumar bowled one expensive opening spell and people were ranting and raving about "enough with the Kumars", despite the fact that he'd taken wickets in the first innings of this very match! Thank God he went on to take 3 wickets in the second innings to shut up the knee-jerk reactionaries.
