jusarrived Posted April 28, 2012 Posted April 28, 2012 ie when I first saw Virat bat . Very similar stance , great balance ..equally strong on both sides of the wicket & sees the ball very early ...& like VK in the early stages , timing is little on and off . Hes going to play tests for India
PaceAttack Posted April 28, 2012 Posted April 28, 2012 We keep on producing some amazing batsmen. Incredible. But again, do the selectors have the eye for picking the right talent?
ShebbySB Posted April 29, 2012 Posted April 29, 2012 He's a gem I'm telling u it's a shame that he's not in the India-A squad.......
Number Posted April 29, 2012 Posted April 29, 2012 I saw him batting first time in this game http://www.espncricinfo.com/u19wc2010/engine/match/432019.html Low scoring game , wickets falling and pressure of India-Pak game. Looked a very gritty player. I want to see Surya Kumar Yadav bat more. But MI just gave him one match.
saneindian Posted April 29, 2012 Posted April 29, 2012 Looks far more disciplined and no MC BCs either :P His time will surely come. The Rohits and Kohlis cannot relax till they have established themselves in the longer format.
jairamesh Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 Just needs to put on abit of muscle mass, do a "Jadeja". And basically we will have another Kohli in batting and fielding.
kabira Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 He is strong backfoot player which is alwasy good if you want succeed on fast pitches.
deathmonger Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 another virat :woot: also unmukt chand. chotta virat. :yay:
Old guy Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 He is strong backfoot player which is alwasy good if you want succeed on fast pitches. :agree: he is pretty solid
kabira Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 We seem to have batting talent Rahane, Pujara, Rohit, Virat adefinately should be our next big 4. even if one of them miss out to their talent promises, we have Mandeep, Unmukt Chand, Mukund, few others..
Pagalpanti Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 He's surely on selectors radar. This came out during Dravid's retirement from cricinfo. The first and obvious choices would be some of the guys who were already there in the reserves in Australia," a BCCI official told ESPNcricinfo. He said even the likes of Manoj Tiwary and Punjab youngster Mandeep Singh were on the selectors' roster along with the above names. "People who are performing at the domestic level would be in the fray. Finally it depends on who clicks at the right time," the source said.

I dont think hes ready yet , may be in a years time .i
jusarrived Posted April 30, 2012 Author Posted April 30, 2012 Just needs to put on abit of muscle mass' date=' do a "Jadeja". And basically we will have another Kohli in batting and fielding.[/quote'] Hes not cut out for T20s , if you remember Kohli had same issues when he started off ..He seems to be too eager playing his shots , especially in the slog overs & looses his timing in the process ..once hes a little more assured , his scoring rate should also improve ..but then sr is irreverent in Tests , for which he should be fine .
jairamesh Posted May 2, 2012 Posted May 2, 2012 Mandeep hits a good knock, should have gone on to hit a fifty.
Lord Posted May 2, 2012 Posted May 2, 2012 looks a good talent, but seems too much in hurry n tries to slog, play cute shots.he should be told to stay till the end even if it means goiing run a ball for 1st 10 overs
jusarrived Posted May 8, 2012 Author Posted May 8, 2012 Another classy innings today . Hes gradually getting his timing right still playing only 80% to his potential imo
