JourneyMan Posted April 29, 2012 Posted April 29, 2012 With the T20 world cup coming up there are some serious concerns about India's bowling attack. The best bowlers in the IPL are nearly all foreigners. Indian bowlers always end up being expensive, regardless of whether it's in the powerplay, the middle overs or the death overs. Bowling at the death is a particularly big concern. The only bowler who I think has a definite place is probably Ashwin. To have a decent chance of winning, we're going to need at least 4 reliable bowlers and a 5th all-rounder. I have no clue who the selectors are going to go for based on current performance.

Yes, so far from what I see. Also if he can get the reverse swing the way he did in his debut game, he can be good LOI bowler.

So he will not be in my Indian XI Viru, Rahane, Gautam, Kohli, Rohit, MSD, IKP/YP, Jadeja/Rahul, Ashwin, Dinda, Balaji/Zak Balaji and Dinda should be given consderation.. For second keeper, may be OJha (No Uthaps or DK or Patel) Please No Kumars (Vinay/Praveen) in the 16...

ipl is fun Posted April 29, 2012 Posted April 29, 2012 YP and Kohli are not in good form now.. Agreed Kohli may be the V.captain. so he will not be left out. Way Raina has played this IPL (not previous IPL) has been more stupidity than lacking skills/form. You can always make a case for UY or VA.
saneindian Posted April 29, 2012 Posted April 29, 2012 The 15 member squad should ideally have 8 batsmen plus 7 bowlers , 4 pacers and 3 spinners., Irfan, Umesh, Rahul and Ashwin should be there. Hopefully Aaron will be fit as well and would have played the ODIs and t20s in Sri Lanka in late July. Dinda could be another one in the sqaud. The 3rd spinner's slot, if they decide to send 3 spinners, could be a toss up between Chawla and Jaddu. My choice for batsmen- Sehwag, Gambhir, Kohli, Raina, Rohit, MSD, Uthappa, Yusuf. Yusuf though will have to show up at some stage in the IPL else that spot would go to Manoj Tiwary. As good as Rahane has been, with Sehwag and GG looking in good touch and Uthappa as a backup opener, I don't think there's a place for him in the t20 side yet.
