coffee_rules Posted May 2, 2012 Posted May 2, 2012 Do u guys have info on the best way to travel via heathrow.? Is there tube connection? and best place to go Back n 2005, we took a tube connection from Heathrow to London and a taxi from there. It's very convenient. Trafalgur Square, Madam Tussads (go see Shah Rukh Khan), London Eye, Tower of London..there are very good museums , Big ben, Westminister Abbey, Bucking Ham Palace.. etc.
Desi Cartman Posted May 2, 2012 Posted May 2, 2012 Is it easier if one hold the PIO or OCI passport ? BTW dont u have your old passport with you or maybe driving license ? I have both and on paper they both are valid till 2018.

Desi Cartman Posted May 2, 2012 Posted May 2, 2012 ?? Canadian Passport, why does it matter with OCI ( which I also have ) When I applied for OCI, the Indian embassy didnt ask for me to surrender my Indian passport (they started doing that few months later) so I still have my desi passport. Also my Delhi driving license is also valid so I can use these things to get anything done in India. Just go through your stuff and you might be able to find something.
Rajiv Posted May 2, 2012 Author Posted May 2, 2012 Oh, when I got my Canadian passport, I went to Indian consulate to cancel the passport ( back in 2005, I actually thought it was a rule ) but then I read that many desis were still using it, its good that I did it voluntarly, I dont have to pay to surrender it ---------- As for UK, I was avoid it..but will have to call my cousin brother..waise bhi 20 years se mila nahin

I can use it like a photo ID basically which I havent done so far. License on the other hand is still a valid proof :isalute:
Rajiv Posted May 2, 2012 Author Posted May 2, 2012 But I am confused, why u worried abt OCI, Indian passport and drivers license..and no, I dont intend to use Indian passport, the multi-stapled 5 book series in the archive section
coffee_rules Posted May 2, 2012 Posted May 2, 2012 details..so tube connects directly from heathrow ' date=' what station do I stop at? can I buy ticket with visa? or cabs accept visa[/quote'] Yes from the airport you can go to central london (paddington or Picadally circus). I suggest you pick 2 or 3 sites for a 9 hr stay. I had stayed a couple of days to visit all of the important ones. tickets you can buy with visa, not sure about cabs. I remember paying in pounds. http://www.tfl.gov.uk/gettingaround/1106.aspx

Gambit Posted May 3, 2012 Posted May 3, 2012 Just buy the sim card at the airport (Mumbai) using your Canadian/US passport. No hassles.
