WASHINGTON:Influential American Congressman Dana Rohrabacher has told Pakistani Prime Minister Yousuf Gilani that his country is a failed state and no amount of US aid money will ever change that. "It is becoming increasingly clear to Members of the US Congress that Pakistan is a failed state and no amount of US aid money will ever change that," Rohrabacher wrote in a letter to Gilani. In his letter, Rohrabacher condemned a recent police action that resulted in the death of four Baluchi men. "Pakistan's future will remain bleak and marred by political violence as long as the Pakistani government and military continue to deny ethnic groups within Pakistan a right to self-determination," he wrote. "American aid money for Pakistan will dry up. It is clear that the Pakistani military and intelligence services have for years diverted money intended to help the people of Balochistan, and the other provinces of Pakistan, into funding terrorism and buying weapons to repress their own people," Rohrabacher said. Rohrabacher is Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee. He along with Congressman Steve King and Louie Gohmert, introduced legislation on February 17, 2012 expressing the sense of Congress that the people of Balochistan have a "right to self-determination and to their own sovereign country." http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/world/pakistan/Pakistan-a-failed-state-US-lawmaker-to-PM-Yousuf-Raza-Gilani/articleshow/13007478.cms what took them so long to realize this I wonder? But that money is directly used for terrorism by Pak in India. We are the biggest victim of American aid to Pak.

the Aid money directly goes in to the politicians pockets but why are american still paying them? its because they need to use Pakistan's supply routes for NATO in Afghanistan, they have been using it since afghan invasion. Most unfortunate thing is so called failed state has much better infrastructure than India. Let me explain - We have just started to upgrade roads to 4 lanes, we call them highways lol. There are only 10-11 6 laned roads in India and we call them expressways. Cities like Cochin are booming, but width of roads is pathetic. I don't know where India is heading to with so much population, 2.4 Lakh new passenger cars join Indian roads each year, add commercial vehicles to this and we are right on path of disaster given we subsidize Diesel. M2 motorway in Pakistan can be used by Pakistan Air Force to land or take off many Fighter Jets. Internet is much cheaper in Pakistan, even though India has 3 times more consumers. Indian companies like Failtel (Airtel) are sucking our hard earned money. ----------- People in Pakistan are rich, Govt. is poor. In India people are poor, Govt. is rich. This is only differance otherwise we are mirror image.

Not true at all. You are talking about ground realities 30 years ago. Things have changed a lot since then, while India is ging forward, Pakistan has regresed. All the amazing by-lanes and super-buildings are vestiges of a time gone by, nowadays investors are shying away from Pakistan As for comparing things with Pakistan, thats like taking the smallest of Indian states and then saying things are better. India has a billion people, you have no idea about what those numbers represent. There are states in India richer than many progressive countries, but we also have states which are poorer than African countries. You cant even imagine the kind of task we are faced with. If India eradicats poverty by half, 1/3rd of the world poverty will disappear, can you imagine the immense task involved? Even an economy of China and US combined would have problems with that let alone India's. It will take many more decades for progress Also you need to look up the definition of a failed state. No surprise you sprung to Pak's defense though

csk you are trolling or massively misinformed. Our internet connections are way better. Pakistan cities regularly have 12-14 hours of loadshedding. This only ever happens in rural india and that too in pockets. Pakistan railways, which was built by the british and was the same as Indian railways before independence, is now in shambles while Indian Railways has moved ahead by generations from what we took over. Do you know that large parts of Pakistan is no longer accessible by the railways because people just undid the rails and took them away to sell as scrap metal. This is true, look it up! This never happens in India, even in the most dacoit infested or naxal controlled areas of the country. These are anecdotal evidence to put things in perspective. If you sit down to compare domain for domain you will find that we are miles ahead of Pakistan in every respect.
