Sehwag1830 Posted May 12, 2012 Author Posted May 12, 2012 i don't have an opinion on pointing please provide some stats and then i can say. the only reason why i consider sehwag as an ftb is because i have seen how inflated his average is due to drawn games. Sehwag averages 47 even if you remove the drawn games which is higher than Viv Richards.
panther Posted May 12, 2012 Posted May 12, 2012 Sehwag averages 47 even if you remove the drawn games which is higher than Viv Richards. excluding minnows and matches played in India he averages 39 in won or lost games
daryl1985 Posted May 12, 2012 Posted May 12, 2012 excluding minnows and matches played in India he averages 39 in won or lost games What are the averages of some other batsman when the same criteria is applied?

Tendulkar averages 42.45 :phehehe:

rkt.india Posted May 12, 2012 Posted May 12, 2012 i still consider him as an ftb due to his inflated average on flat tracks. Dont think Galle was a flat track where he scored 201 out of 329. At MCG. 195 out of 350.
panther Posted May 12, 2012 Posted May 12, 2012 Dont think Galle was a flat track where he scored 201 out of 329. At MCG. 195 out of 350. what was the result of these matches?
panther Posted May 12, 2012 Posted May 12, 2012 Not Draws. they are included in his stats than only drawn matches were excluded

panther Posted May 12, 2012 Posted May 12, 2012 Javed Miandad massive FTB Dravid and Flower also FTB's apparently. yep but sehwag is much bigger ftb than dravid if you go by outside subcontinent only http://stats.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/stats/index.html?class=1;filter=advanced;home_or_away=2;home_or_away=3;opposition=1;opposition=2;opposition=3;opposition=4;opposition=5;orderby=batting_average;qualmin1=1000;qualval1=runs;result=1;result=2;team=6;template=results;type=batting
King Posted May 12, 2012 Posted May 12, 2012 Does it make them any less cricketers or is it a go at someone is it?
jairamesh Posted May 12, 2012 Posted May 12, 2012 Laughable to even consider Ponting a great. Ponting can't play spin and swing, his average in India borders on pathetic and he got away playing only 1 solitary game in Pakistan. There are good reasons why Ponting will never make a World XI. He is just another "home" cornball bully, just like Mahela, Hayden, Maindad etc.
