jj_28 Posted May 14, 2012 Posted May 14, 2012 Who do you guys think can become our pick of the bowlers for the coming tours and especially our tour of the SA and Australia at home For me Zaheer is a definite pick but we need at least 2 more fast bowlers Our selectors will most likely choose from Umesh Yadav Munaf Patel Praven Kumar Varun Aaron and possibly Ishant Sharma if he can get fit and stay fit For me it has to Zaheer, Yadav and Ishant (if fit)
jj_28 Posted May 15, 2012 Author Posted May 15, 2012 Yeah I think in 2013, have a feeling the spot for no.1 will decided in that tour South Africa Host India (3 Tests, 7 ODIs, 2 T20s)
Old guy Posted May 15, 2012 Posted May 15, 2012 zaher wont make that series its too far ahead and with our pacers getting injured after 2-3 games its impossible to predict lol ishant might be there yadav is certainty i would also include aaron
Clarke Posted May 15, 2012 Posted May 15, 2012 Seriously, Ishant :wall: Avg of 48 in SA, 58 in Eng & 90 in OZ. Quite an encouraging overseas trend for some of you. Just leave it alone, lets win a game or two at home for now.
rkt.india Posted May 15, 2012 Posted May 15, 2012 Toonaf  Would even have Vinay, but toonaf.
vamos_rafa Posted May 15, 2012 Posted May 15, 2012 Zak, Umesh are a certainity(if they are fit). Would give a try to Varun aaron or even abu Nechim.
Old guy Posted May 15, 2012 Posted May 15, 2012 Zak' date=' Umesh are a certainity(if they are fit). Would give a try to Varun aaron or even abu Nechim.[/quote'] its in 2013 whole season is in between wont be surprised if some one new like shami ahmed improves he has all the potential needed
vamos_rafa Posted May 15, 2012 Posted May 15, 2012 its in 2013 whole season is in between wont be surprised if some one new like shami ahmed improves he has all the potential needed Looking at the last few years, I am really doubtful that any new player can make a mark from India :--D
Needforspeed Posted May 15, 2012 Posted May 15, 2012 Too far off to predict now. Munaf definitely wont be playing Tests for India again. Our selectors are notorious for picking trundlers and our fast bowlers are frequently injured. I dont see Zak playing then. Hopefully if fit...Ishant, Yadav, Aaron and Shami Ahmed for sure and then any of the guys like Veer Pratap Singh, Awana, Nechim, Dinda, Suyal etc
rkt.india Posted May 15, 2012 Posted May 15, 2012 Looking at the last few years' date=' I am really doubtful that any new player can make a mark from India :--D[/quote'] You are wrong. Most new bowlers make mark when they start but then fade away very quickly. Yadav made a mark in Australia. Lets see who does it in South Africa 2013. As Sabby said, Shami Ahmed will be a strong contender by then. He may not be as quick as Yadav or Aaron, but I like his bowling style more than those two. Dont think Zak will survive by then.
Old guy Posted May 15, 2012 Posted May 15, 2012 Looking at the last few years' date=' I am really doubtful that any new player can make a mark from India :--D[/quote'] actually not true itsn ot new players who have been bad its the old ones who have disappointing its this whole generation of player (rs,irfan, munaf, sreesanth ,ishant) who have dissapointe after making mark we did got yadav and he is fine for our test side and he improved so much in one season its the next step from becoming good bowler with some strengths and weaknesses to high quality bowler is where we fail our bowlers actually lose there strength see de lange right now i rate yadav better hten him but i can bet on south african management to work on him and in 2-3 years he will be destroying batting line ups -__- u dont get international ready bowlers from start its very rare

I know many bowlers have made their marks but the problem is their sustainabilty. I wanted to coment on the same but wrote something else instead. anyways, I would want Zak to be there before he passes on the batton of the premier fast bowler to someone else. He was pretty good and fit in Oz as well. Picked up around 16 wickets with intermittent support.

He needs some real sorting in his mind and bowling. As per Zak, he still was the highest wicket taker and looked like picking a wicket in every spell. Only in Adelaide he was not bowling well.

When did I say that Umesh was not good. He performed better than what was expected. Ishant was the real dissapointment there. If he could have done a better job with the backing up business, things could have been a lot different.
