You could have been the most dominant team during the league phase, but if your form is not peaking right at the moment of the playoffs, you will probably not win. With that in mind, I like what the Mumbai Indians have done. They stuttered along hesitantly throughout the middle stages, but peaked well towards the end. I like them, even though I feel their top order batting is still suspect. Clearly, Sachin is not a dominant T20 force and for all Dwayne Smith's headlines, I dont rate him as a batsmen at all. He will struggle big time against quality quick bowling. CSK do not tick the boxes in either category - Niether were the dominant in the league phase and nor did their outputs peak towards the end. They still a very uncertain team. to me. But hey, in T20, all you need is for 1 or 2 batsmen to fire, score 160 and your pacer to pick 2 quick wickets at the top. With their exceptional spin attack and outstanding fielding, you can never count CSK out.

I am surprised that IPL's 2nd most destructive batsmen (Gayle's at the top obviously) does not have a single 60+ score this entire season. Their opening stand did look dangerous for a couple of games, but if you remember, they dropped Huss to include Hilfy to bolster their bowling. And the sad part is, we are now into the playoffs phase and I still do not know what CSK's batting order actually is. yes it is strange..more so bcos its t20 format i can understand him failing in tests and all but t20 in sub continent? this is just lack of confidence nothing more hope he clicks in finals otherwise they wont be interesting :cantstop:
