JourneyMan
Transfer market with caps so it doesn't become like England where Chelsea and Man City bought themselves the league. The budget has to be fixed and agreed upon in a vote by all team owners.

1983-2011
Always check the product before buying. some background info can be found on the link below http://stats.espncricinfo.com/indian-premier-league-2012/engine/records/averages/batting_bowling_by_team.html?id=6680;team=4346;type=tournament

Let the franchise bid as high as they want for players & that has to go against their total quota. All players who are retained..their contract amount should made public also & it should also be adjustment against the franchise quota. This will keep every thing is transparent....& we are sure that franchise like MI & CSK are not going over their quota.

Without Auctions and salary cap, the IPLs would have ended up going mental bidding like 10mil. If anything it's shows how the stupid the valuations are that players like Jadeja and Pathan get paid so much, without auction they would end up being bid so much more like in european football where obscene amount of money is spent on ordinary players. Pune can open with Sachin and ganguly, with Dravid at no 3 and Laxman at 4. In bowling, they can open with Sreesanth and Nehra, with Harbhajan Singh as the main spinner. there wont be one empty seat in the stadium with such a team !! vvvslaxman
They buy players that are not trouble-makers, in terms of their attitudes. So you get a bunch of guys where their main objective is the team - Fauf about CSK :cantstop:
