Asim Posted June 17, 2012 Posted June 17, 2012 What a match that of Pathan's hat-trick was... we all were fedup with dead tracks in previous games and suddenly we got THIS... Breathtaking start by India, Pak was 39/6 then amazing century by Kamran Akmal The Great :) coming at number 8, then wonderful bowling by Asif The Great :D along with Shoaib and Razzaq... almost same score in 1st inngs but huuuge comeback by Pak in 2nd inng, all of top 7 Pakistani batsmen scored 50+, around 600 total, very good century knock by Yuvraj in 2nd inng but Pak won at day-4... 6,7 years back but remember as it happened last week... Really miss Pak vs India Test cricket...
Utalk Posted June 17, 2012 Posted June 17, 2012 hahahahahaaaa :hysterical: And their delusional fans think Pakistan is the most tailunted side in the world. They can't even bat to save their lives. You need to come to 21st century. We are a very poor odi team and have been one for good 6/7 years. No world class batsman, ordinary keeper and no world class fast bowler. Can't remember last time we won a series against a top team ie Ind SA or Aus.

I am talking about pak fans who thinks that Pakistan has the most talented players in world cricket and their delusional theories and somehowl those people makes the majority of Pak fans.

I think most of Pak fans know deep down that batting cupboard is bare and this day and age you can't win ODIs without good batters.
Hell Raiser Posted June 17, 2012 Posted June 17, 2012 I think most of Pak fans know deep down that batting cupboard is bare and this day and age you can't win ODIs without good batters. Exactly. Team needs to be balanced. Pak can't afford to have players like Afridi and Hafeez in the same team particularly when other batsmen are not much of a quality and a keeper who can't contribute much with the bat.Pakistani batting is miserable for years now and your bowling line up isn't consistent. Apart from Ajmal, I don't see any other good bowler. You can't depend on this bowling line up to win you matches consistently against good teams.
Marut Posted June 17, 2012 Posted June 17, 2012 Aggression is hardly an issue when 7 batsmen score 1 run. Their main batsmen just needed to play full quota of overs. Most of the time their batsmen lose wicket without even mindless slogging. When opener averages 27 then certainly consistency and reliability is a big issue. (Wait they are not inconsistent!) Problem is not batting U.Akmal at 3 or 4. He is certainly their best ODI batsmen who can score quick runs and releive pressure. Unlike our openers whose SR are in the 80s and 90s, their openers either get out early or take too many balls to settle down. And there is no genuine aggressive batsman later in the order to make up. The fact that they are relying on a hack like Afridi to chase says a lot about the team. Todays' ODI needs a couple of batsmen capable of scoring at 80 to 100 runs per hundred balls, and Paki have failed here and the one batsman who can do it is being wasted down the order. Luckily thier bowling is capable of restricting the opposition to a manageable score, else they will not win a single match with this batting.

Marut Posted June 17, 2012 Posted June 17, 2012 Over the past three years Younis Khan has averaged 28 at SR=70. I wonder what he is doing in the ODI team. He is a big liability to the team and is probably costing them many matches.

Umar Akmal is a hack following the tradition of great Imran Nazir, Yasir Hameed etc

Square Drive Posted June 17, 2012 Posted June 17, 2012 Bowling isn't a problem for Pakistan. Any bowling attack can have bad days in modern-day cricket which favors the batsmen. But their batting and fielding has been the worst in the last few years when you consider the top 8 teams.
Marut Posted June 18, 2012 Posted June 18, 2012 U are spending too much time in PP. Umar Akmal is a hack following the tradition of great Imran Nazir' date=' Yasir Hameed etc[/quote'] I don't agree he is a hack, he is still a young guy having a long way to go. The only issue with him so far is that he has not improved much as a player ever since he made a strong start to his career. Probably he is not being properly handled or guided. Akmal has the second highest aggregate and second highest ODI average over the past two years for Pakistan. And he does it at the best SR. Not sure why you think he is a hack. Only Misbah averages more, but is 18 runs behind on SR. All Paki batsmen are mediocre as far as ODIs are concerned, but amongst the mediocre, Akmal is certainly one of the best. http://stats.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/stats/index.html?class=2;spanmin1=18+Jun+2010;spanval1=span;team=7;template=results;type=batting
Iconoclast Posted June 18, 2012 Posted June 18, 2012 Dav Whatmore is a Genius | Mohammad Sami and Angelo Matthews !!! Take a bow! Dropping Ajmal for Sami ... what the **** ?!?!?!?!?!:facepalm::facepalm:
Ultimate_Game Posted June 18, 2012 Posted June 18, 2012 Mohammad Sami!!! Take a bow! What a talent! What a performer! What class! No matter what happens, as an opponent you can always count on Sami to give it all for you :hatsoff: And I bow down to Paki selectors, team management and the fans on keeping faith in the meat eating phaaaasst bowler Oh by the way I forgot to mention Sami's mental strength - which nearly competes with Pakistani batting lineup for mental toughness :hysterical:
