No there is no warning. Over-rate shortfalls in 2 international matches in a 12 month period earns you an one match ban. Same thing happened to Dhoni in Australia. (Earlier it used to be 3 matches)

the unpredicted has happened in the ODI and T20 series. no one saw SL drawing or winning v PAK in any format in this tour. but going by the pathetic squad SL have selected for tests, normal service should resume from now on at least. but with PAK you never know. two spectacular batting collapses ala 2009 and PAK might be 2-0 down in no time.

this is not good. Misbah is one solid player in the team right now and they need him. Pakistan were slight favorites going into the series but now it is even. SL do not have a very good Test bowling lineup - Malinga is not there, new Spinners except Herath are not so good and all rounder like Perera and Matthews will not be as effective in Tests. Welegedera, Dammika Prasad, Lakmal are not as threatening. But their batting is good with two world class players and some good upcoming talent like Matthews, Chandimal.
