he was called on to lead the BJP campaign in K'taka but knowing that defeat was certain, he declined. As for jealousy, I think the other BJP leaders know very well that in the present political scenario in the country, Modi can at best be the PM candidate, not the PM because the allies won't accept him. So in a way the others leaders should be happy that he's being projected by the media as the PM candidate - if the party loses, he gets all the blame; if they win, the allies don't accept him as PM candidate. Also, his name as PM candidate has started to re-energize the party workers who have been unhappy. I think there's another reason that they are giving him so much coverage - since the 2008 American Prez Elections I have seen that the Indian media (especially the English media) has been really fascinated by a "Presidential" election and having Modi as the leader of the BJ would mean a sort of a Presidential election.
Sir, you took the words right out of my mouth. Or my fingers rather.

These news channels are funny..din mein Modi ke speech dikaho..prime time par call out the leftists and activists to slam his speech and keep talking of the 2002 riots Dono hathon mein laddoo hi laddoo Also think Modi is in the danger of overexposure, may lead to a viewer fatigue. Far too many speeches (not his fault though that everything is being shown live nationally)

Yep. But what I found odd was that there were only male pundits talking about his speech yesterday particular when it was about the women issues. The TV channels were pathetic to get them to discuss his speech yesterday and of course, it turned into the minority debate. However, there was one particular channel who did allow woman to show their reaction and their reaction was very positive about Modi. The anchor himself got bored especially when there was nothing to debate and thus, that program only ended very quickly. That's the reality of TV debates with channels simply creating news by hyping the events. Today's speech was also very impactful and imo, things are getting more aggressive out there in the political field. The general public do get energetic listening to Modi and thus the opponents and his haters have to counter that by making some stupid excuses and bringing back old and irrelevant issues.

That was NDTV. Their Chennai reporter got 3-4 young girls to talk about Modi's speech, kept trying to get an anti-Modi byte, failed, all 3 effusively praised Modi, the reporter said 'Mixed reaction in Chennai on Modi's speech'.

^ :cantstop: NDTV's trying very hard. The other day when Pappu spoke in CII, I saw the NDTV 'Feck Stops Here'... All the youn people in the audience gave a thumbs down to Pappu's efforts and the Anchor just resigned to her fate and ended with a 'mixed reaction' comment..

But hey...they strongly support the family. So we cant really blame them for what they are doing.. but it was still fun to watch... :hysterical:

Some already call them Nehru Gandhi TV given the number of programs they have done to 'evovle' Rahul Gandhi or managing a few exclusives even from Priyanka Vadra.

given that they have openly shown their loyalty for "the family", they (and even Hindustan Times to some extent) may find life tough if BJP comes to power.

NDTV, CNN-IBN, Times Now all in the same boat to lick Gandhi family's feet. But NDTV provides best lols during their debates especially with Mrs "Congress MP's Wife" Singh as a panellist.

JDU has said in clear terms that there is no way Modi will be PM. Also asked BJP to declare PM candidate till end of year
They also said Congress is their enemy and NDA is doing well. I'm sure BJP will take the right decision in reigning in that man in hurry, Modi... Advani could be compromise candidate... Modi has to wait till 2019 elections..

This proves that these guys and many like him are against one person not a party or ideology. Mulayam, Nitish these all politicians have no problem with Advani as per them he is secular but Modi is communal. Kyun phati padi hai sabki ek aadmi se, god knows.....

Maybe the hundreds of thousands of displaced Muslims in Gujarat can answer that question.
